Hi guys,

I passed by this fatal accident sign some days ago.

Apparently, a biker lost control and crashed into a tree by the road side.

My take is, the crash site is at a bend, but smack right in the middle is the dreaded white arrow markings.

During/ after rain, that marking is going to be a potential banana skin for bikers.

Not far from this crash site, there was a fatal accident some years back.

Also at a bend, but instead of a white arrows, there's a manhole cover which is a hazard to riders.

What I wanna say is, these road hazards are a non issue to cars, but for bikes, keep a lookout!

Ride safe.

Ya, I do noticed that such markings usually at bends too. Wonder why they want to put markings in the middle of a bend...don't they know is very dangerous to bikers?

Life is good.

you guys should check out the junction between AMK ave 1 and AMK ave 6. On AMK ave 6 heading north. rightmost lane which turns right to AMK ave 1 towards CTE, there is a DRAIN GRILL which measures about 2m by 2m right smack in the turning zone.

Long time ago.....heard the gossip, that the road markings are painted with china paints. Very slippery when wet.

I had experienced stepping on them during the rain, with my Magnum Elite Hi Tech Combat boots and my feet were swept off......aquaplaning on the road. The sole of that boots, is meant for walking/rapelling on glass window panes.....so that should tell you how slippery our road markings are. Worse when oil/petrol gets floated on them.

Speaking of drain grills, the one at the minor road t-junction behind Sunshine Plaza/Mr Bean @ Selegie is a killer too. Worse on a rainy day.

This one cuts completely across the road.

My experience is that I just don't ride on road markings, Esp on rainy days or if the road wet. Can say, I just play safe. haha
