Hi all,

Anybody encountered problems with the above services?

Personally, I've encountered way too many cockups in the service, right from the installation and even now, both my Mio TV and ADSL is down. Mio TV have been acting up since day 1. Have to turn on/off the Mio Box countless times before it is up.

If not, will always see the stupid gears. After countless calls to and fro their helpdesk which has totally clueless "helpdesk" agents, found out its the profile which was created wrongly. The helpdesk agents are a bunch of useless buggers who always ask to restart the MioBOX as though it is magic.

Now, the Mio TV box has got no LINK light since Monday(26/4/2010). The DSL on the router tht connects to MioBOX is stable tho. Had already missed several champs league matches due to this stupid MIO TV breakdown.

Apart from the MIOTV, now the ADSL is also down since Monday(26/4/2010). Had already checked dial-tone, tested on another router and checked on line quality but still no internet access. Calling the helpdesk is such a waste of time since they can't even troubleshoot the problem with their lack of technical knowledge.

In the end, they arranged for their technician to come onsite which is tomorrow to check on this issue. What about the champs league match tonight? Another match missed and I doubt the technician will be able to solve the issue when he come onsite tomorrow as all the previous onsite visits does not solve the issue cos the issue was resolved by their own backend.

Totally pissed customer.

Wah, really nobody encountered problems with MIO ar?

Updates for this issue.

Apptmt was supposed to be at 4.30-6pm but the Technician was at the door at abt 1.30PM. Was outside and told him to stick to the apptmt which was at 4.30pm. At 4PM, a technician came. Checked here and there and at about 4.15pm, another Technician came!

Super ****-up and same incident like the previous onsite visit. End up the 1st Technician left as he's a sub-contractor and the 2nd Technician was direct ST Technician. Extensive checks were done and in the end, nothing was done at my premises. The Technician called their backend and found out the profiles for MIO TV and ADSL was swapped across the DEL lines.

End up the issue was resolved at about 6 plus PM. To make the long story short, why was the profile swapped and what is the point of having a helpdesk when they can't even detect the issue which was at their own backend without sending Technician onsite? Time wasted, resources wasted, manpower wasted.

Huge company but no brainer....

In some companies, there's a group of people called the Helpdesk Analysts.

They're the front-end people, take tens of hundreds of calls per day, and forward those requests to the engineers/technical people/onsite techs because only those latter 3 have the ability to check your line's status and/or fix the issue. Helpdesk Analysts just sit there and taichi jobs and forward complaints, that's all.

Pretty robotic and not foolproof IMO.

Anyways, congrats for having this issue resolved so far.

Yeah, found tht out from the Singtel Technician.

But I guess ST really don't value consumer feedback/complains as up til now, the so called Operations Manager have not gotten back to me as what he had promised.

Alot of taichi in this organisation and the best part is that even the supervisors, managers and operations managers cannot follow-up properly.....

Use a homeplug AKA powerline adapter if your house is running on a Single-phase electric power to extend your wireless connection to ANY spots of your house. There are a few brands doing that now... Linksys By Cisco, Aztech, TP-Link and some other brands

http://ii.alatest.com/product/600x400/d/d/Linksys-PowerLine-Turbo-Ethernet-Adapter-Kit-Netzwerkkarte-0.jpg

more information : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HomePlug_Powerline_Alliance

- Undertail exhaust. It was not the Ducati 916 (as may people think) that was the first production bike with such a design, but the NR750.

- Single-side swingarm. Actually, this was not a new concept on the NR750. But it was not a new concept on the Ducati 916 (again, as many people think) either! The RC30 race bike and 1988 Honda Hawk GT Had it!

Hi,

Any cisco gurus ard?

I've a Cisco 877 configured and tested to be working on 3mb singnet ADSL. However, it doesn't work on my 15mb MIO ADSL. Are there any additional config for 15mb ADSL?

Appreciate any advise.

Thanks.

Question: That 15MB MIO box...what is it like? (LAN ports, telephone RJ-11 port?)

Or is it a set box that is configured to receive TV channels?

Further to what redbeacon says, I guess the problem lies with how you connect these two devices together..

Try MIO ADSL modem (LAN port) -> C877 (LAN port).

It goes without saying, you must review your firewalling rules..

C877 ADSL interface is not a part of such setup, so having it down is OK.

Hope this helps.

I have been having problem with the Maxonline Service connected to a router.

The recurring problem is that when connected to a wireless router very often I'll get no connection.

From my point of view it is the Maxonline service.

Feedback (Long exchange) to their technician will always get answers that they blame it on the router. Until they reset something on their end. If they reset some settings on their end and my router works, wouldn't it be some faults on their side? But this will usually last a few months before the problem comes back again.

I had used 2 different routers. Dlink and Linksys. Both with the same problem. Is there any router brand and model proven to be good to use with the Maxonline service?

Looking for a solution. Honestly I think the only solution is another ISP.... Hahaha.

you mean while you are wireless connection, you always get d/c for no reason?

what about when you are on a direct cable connection to the router/modem via a Ethernet cable. Does it disconnect?

if it doesn't disconnect, the problem really is with your router/router wireless settings/concrete or objects that might be blocking the wireless signal within your house.

it might be not the router/modem that is the problem, it might be the laptop/desktop that is the problem. for example, virus/wireless settings/wireless card etc. alot of factors to put in before you can conclude the isp/router is the problem.

can try using a laptop/ipod touch/or whatever handheld gadget that can detect wifi, try connecting when you are near the router, and see if it disconnects.

maybe you want to try using purchasing a wireless N router, it provides more coverage and better signal as compared to the G router in the past.

you best bet for more technical help'd be local forum such as vrforums, hardwarezone. there's alot of SMEs over there.

Yes wireless connection.

Sometimes I'll get no internet service at all.

Even my desktop connected via wire thru the router.

My laptop can detect the network with no problems but it seems no internet service at all.

Direct connection to the cable modem is ok. But I want to setup a wireless network. I find maxonline technical assistance unreliable, for example, when I already connect direct to the cable modem, they still tell me I'm connected through a router??? Maybe my case really X files?

I had looked up on other forums as well. Didn't manage to find one with a similar problem.

I am thinking of getting another router but I dun want to get any router abruptly and having the same problem again wasting money.

Most definitely a poorly configured network is to blame.

Do yourself a favour, reset your router to defaults and configure it manually, i.e. without the CD it comes with.. Then connect your laptop to a router and you should be fine.

Max. 10-15 minutes job.

Good luck!

Direct connection to the cable modem is ok.

If that is the case, it's not the fault of the ISP.

From my experience, Maxonline is very stable. If your cable modem is more than 5 years old, try to change to a new one.

i can suggest some tests :

On your router, do a hard reset to restore to factory setting. In this setting, ie. security disabled, connect it up to your cable modem.

Test 1 - hard wire your pc to the router to check connectivity, and internet access.

Test 2 - If you have a notebook with wireless, check connectivity, and internet access.

then report back

check router DHCP settings, make sure got enough IP and do remember to set the expiry of dhcp lease to 1 day instead of forever keep alive.

check WAN settings on router, make sure it able to get IP from starhub and make sure your dhcp is configured to have DNS

no internet service and limited connectivity.

Okie.

I tried another router.

I set up the router.

Wired connection from the router no problem.

Wireless connection... Everytime cold start, laptop can't detect wireless network.

I gotta on and off the router a few times. Or even go to the wireless settings and switch between the n/g/b.

It's been a few times like this. No wireless network from cold start. Did I not do something right?

I have seen similar issues before. This seems to affect older wireless cards: no matter what you do, those few laptops would refuse to connect to the wireless network..

Try to connect without any security measures first. If it works, setup WEP encryption. Try again. If it works you may wish to hike it up to WPA/WPA2 Personal (unless you have an authentication server on your network where you should opt for Enterprise).

Good luck!
