only feel minimal or no difference in seat height.

what changes is the handling of the bike.

hope this helps.

hi all...

just got a R1200C :)

any others here with the same / similar model?

been on her only for 3 days, but she's a very sweet ride :D

can any kind fellas here reco any exhaust systems for her? and availability locally or have to self import?

Thanks :)

hi, i am riding a R1200C too; she's a 1998 but i only got her since Nov 2009.

yup, sweet ride, not much to complain about.

Changed to a new original battery within the first ten days. Back in Aug 2010, i replaced both of the worn-out front brake-pad pins.

And in Dec i replaced the pump kit for the front brake reservoir (at the handlebar) and the original leading hose to a aftermarket kevlar hose.

My apologies, no idea for exhaust system; perhaps u can surf E-bay.

Cheers!

ride safely, ride defensively

R1300GS watercooled boxer spotted

The writing has been on the wall for some time for BMW to replace its air-cooled boxer twin with an updated liquid-cooled version, and that hallmark day appears to be coming, as SoloMoto (additional photos on their website) has captured the next-generation German motor out testing in the wild (enhanced photo above) on the Spanish roads near Tarragona. This photo appears to confirm reports that BMW is testing a new R1200GS model, which will feature the liquid-cooled boxer twin, and has obvious differences from its air-cooled predecessor.

While the photo is noticeably of poor quality (isn’t funny how spy shots are always taken on bargain bin camera phones?), it does appear to give away the fact that the shaft drive has been moved from the right to the left side, with the exhaust can also moving to the opposite side of the current R-Series. These facts alone tell us there is a new motor hidden underneath the updated bodywork seen above. Road-testing this early in the year could suggest that we’ll see BMW unveil the design as early as the Fall motorcycle shows as a 2012 model.

hi guys - hoping to seek some opinion here.

I intend to get a F650GS 2001 model to have a taste of beemer ownership. I am looking at riding it for a year or 2, then take the plunge to a new BMW bike. Just wondering if it is a bike that will typically be trouble free? I was reading Fazil report on his problems about engine trouble and Hugh amount of money etc, kinda put me off a bit on older models.

Hope those with experience on this particular model can shed some light

Hi Guys,

Got myself a F800GS a while back; nice to see a lively Beemer community in here :)

my headlight bulb blew during a ride up north recently, and i noticed my tyres are pretty much worn out too.

I've been looking around for a decent replacements (especially the bulb) - wondering what you guys are using and where you guys got 'em? I'm not having much luck with the local bikeshops, esp since many are still on their CNY break.

My current choices are:

Bulb - Philips H7 XP Moto

Tyres - Continental Trail Attack

Appreciate your help here, thanks!

10K servicing at PML usually change EO. Diagnostic and stuffs.

U can service at M-teknik or other place but u can not remove the "service" sign from the display.
