For this year all new GSA will come with side panniers except for the top box. My friend ordered 1 but need to wait till April or may for shipment. Price tag is at 46k Otr.

I guess tat's the cause too. Can't think of any other plausible ones.

papabread79,

If you have managed to troubleshoot this TPC problem, do share.

I am wondering if there is a battery on the sensor which means removing the tire and replacing the battery... and if that's so... what batteries are they?

I'll do a search and see who the web comes up with....

$46K is a good price considering the 2 boxes are included. And of coz the current sky-high COE fee.

I am of the opinion that it has the battery at the stem to transmit via RF. I did went to PML to ask them to check on it when i sent it in for routine servicing last month, but they told me everything was fine. At that time, the problem would surface intermittently, but as of now, it is happening with every turn of the ignition.

I will get them to check on it again next week and ensure that something is done as the warranty ends next month.

Paparoti.......how are you? Want to go Sg Selai again? Or maybe Kg Peta to camp when the bridge is okay??
Yes Sir, i want. But only when the sunny weather has begin.

Just spoke with them on the TPC earlier this morning.

My front unit takes about 10mins of riding to get a reading on the tire whilst the rear gives me a reading within 50metres from moving off......

Apparently there is no way to change the battery and instead the whole unit needs to be replaced. Been loosely quoted a "hundred plus" for a unit. And they can be purchased individually.

Till the unit goes "kaput"... i'll just use it till then.

I have also looked into the microfiche on the parts and the TPC details are below:

Part Number: 36237694420

Name: SENSOR WITH VALVE - RDC

Price for 2: USD145.89

hi...

can anyone please advise me if there are any shops that can do a de-cat and retune (if necessary)

riding R1200c...

thank you,

Ant

Hey antartica bro, de-cat for BMW bikes is the way to go,

you can free up some horsepower

but the best way is to change the linkage.

Usually is header to midst section but some are rear to Muffler.

rather than digging out the internal cat.

Retune is not neccessary but if you do,

you gain the smooth power delivery and some HP numbers again. :p

All the best to your project. :p

that was what i was thinking...

any shops to reco? :)

thanks :)

Only recently do i notice the frequent backfire "pop" when i close throttle after acceleration. It wasnt normal, any idea what caused it and/or is it a problem? Anyone with answers? -R1100GS

i checked earlier & my air-box a bit oily... do u think the fuel injectors got anything to do bout it...? but no loss in throttle power.. hhhmmm....???

I do have the same experience, either:

1) New exhaust

2) Air ratio is not balance

1)Either you can go to PML for diagnost.

2)Get a power commander and tune at HKL.

3)Get a booster plug. (which i do this, the cheapest, easy and safe time.)

I hope these info help you :-)
