I recommend Navigator IV, easy to install. If you buy Zumo then you need to get an adaptor to fit to the GPS soccet under the peak (for GS-GSA). I have fitted Nav IV on my bike absolutely no problem. Automatically switches off 1-2 minutes after the engine is switched off.

K thanks, kinda like the navigator more than the zumo..

Hi all beemers,

I wonder have any of you change ur own engine oil, spark plug etc? I watched in youtube and it is fairly easy to do it. Most probably we can save more than $60 (more if u go back to PML ) if we change ourselves.

The used engine oil, according to one of the forummate, we can dispose it at tuas or any motorshop for $1 or $2.

My concern is the computer reset gadget. Do we need one?

Advisable to do your servicing back at PML.

I change my own oil and filter every 5k saves me $45 labour charges and I dispose my used oil at my regular workshop where I buy oil from. Major service every 10k I goes back to agent cos need to reset the computer if not the irritating message will pop out and since my GS still under warranty.

Couldn't understand how a PM servicing can affect safety..

The bike was built with the ability to do field maintenance. Henceforth, most of the basic preventive maintenance such as oil change, oil filter, gear (incl. FD) oil, spark plugs and even valve adjustments can be done by the user.

If you (DiabloXIII) are seriously keen, perhaps you can goggle for the GS-911 which is a diagnostic system for the 1200. You can probably break even after 2 to 3 servicing with the authorized distributor.

Thanks! I find the GS 911 quite useful. Do you own one?

I've actually just bought a 1150GSA couple of months back and has done a handful of basic maintenance. Currently looking into doing valve adjustments since I've got the tools and gauge for it. I don't think the 1150 model require any resetting so I may not need the GS-911 for now.

Anyone knows of any competent workshop that does a great job in the changing of the FB bearing including shimming (see photo below extracted from advrider forum). Most workshops (incl. PML) uses back the shim without taking any measurement of the tolerance resulting in some replaced FD bearings to fail after 10,000km of use.

In case anyone is interested in these unused items:

Kriega US10 and US20 tailpacks and US Tank adaptor (set)

Kriega R25 motorcycle backpack

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/380565-Unused-Kriega-R25-motorcycle-backpack-for-sale

Reason for selling: Tailpacks and tank adaptor dont really fit suitably to my current Hypermotard (trying too hard to make this into a tourer), and I personally find the backpack a little too bulky for my liking to be used as a daily office bag.

PM me if keen. Thanks for reading.

I have a set of Touratech Zega Pro Pannier System, this is a Special Set FOR BMW R1200GS / ADV. Color = Black

I'm Looking to SELL or TRADE .. Your Original BMW GSA Pannier

This "Special Set" of Zega Pro panniers consists of one standard Zega Pro pannier, and a second with an exhaust cutout to allow the left-hand pannier to be mounted closer to the frame of the R1200GS. So both Pannier are symmetric and good for city traffic.
