Hey guys. Just got myself a 2009 1200 gsa. I read quite abit and the bike has a tyre pressure sensor. Can i still change tyres at any bike shop or do i need to only change to specific shops that knows how to change gsa tyres? Sorry for being such a noob as i previously rode Japanese bike. And also, planning of getting Michelin anakee2. Rough idea how much it cost?. Thanks a million guys!

No problem going any other shop to change. Just tell them to be careful of the tire valve cos the sensor is there.

ACEA A3/B3 are fine too. Their performance/quality classifications A3/A5 tests used in Europe are arguably more stringent than the API and ILSAC standards.

Don't get panic.

Yeah that I just found out. Cool. Thanks for the advise.

Anakee2 about 400++ a pair.michelin stuff are suprisingly pricey

hi guy

if i buy a less than 2 year bm bike from other motordiam but the previous owner buy from pml, will the bike still under warranty from pml if the bike part spoil?

regards

toh

Are u referring to re-financing? If yes, then its still under PML warranty. But to be safe, ask for proper documents to show that this bike was bought from pml, not just a motorshop that is out to make a mince meat of you.

Watch this youtube video. One of for me, an honest review from Touratech guys displaying the pros and cons when compared to each other. So its really up to individual feel. Some may like the water whereas some still prefers the old school boxer.

Enjoy!

Air cooled is now an old engine. I do not think anyone will pay extra for it ever.

my take is, 1150gs model is a tough horse build with less electronics. those 1200 and beyond are wired with electronics. so i think oilheads are here to stay for at least another 10years.

Those bikes in other countries are thrashed year in year out as they have nature to their expense. but here in sg and with basic touring north, are easy on this monsters and so minimal wear/tear.

You might have problem balancing the rear wheel. The shop needs to have the balancing adaptor (Part no.: 36 3 582) to fix the rear wheel to the balancing machine. No problem for the front wheel though.

The answer is "YES". The bike is consider a PML bike and they will honour the 2 year guarantee regardless from whom/where you've bought the bike as second hand. A simple way to make sure that is a PML bike is that, just call them (PML) and give them the bike's registration number and ask them to confirm if that bike has been purchased from them. They keep detailed records and you have nothing to worry. They will only say if it is a PML or not. They will not give you service history unless the owner ask them to do so. Pretty much professionals in my opinion.

Cheers!!

Wow sounds complicated. So any recommendations for shops that has that balancing adaptor? And any recommendations on which shops to do servicing?

That's stupid. 3 years ago I did call them for a 2007 GSA that I was interested for. I given them the bike's number and they told me straight away that it was "their" bike. However they refused to tell me its service history which I found it very professional. Now they are asking you to go in person to check? Thats simply insane.

Thank you.

What do you guys think of the new GS?

I felt that it lost some of the rugged look.. Now feel a little like a glamour bike instead.

I know that the power is better compare to those before.

Looking to buy a GS1200, in research phrase as to purchase the new one or older model. Any idea where to purchase the bike from for the best deal?
