I think abit difficult , Touratech SG price is competitive , unless self carry back and minus oversea tax and bypass gst.

Touratech oversea will not ship to SG .

If you have anything to buy from Touratech USA online, maybe there is a way to bring in the products by ownself. Pricewise, not too sure if its cheaper.

F800GS - OTR ~ 32k

G1200GS - OTR ~ 42k

F700GA - no stock and no display bike.

I'm too short for F800GS, but ok with G1200GS (lower seat setting).

Hi guys, need some help here pls..

Have a 2005 gs1200.

This morning i couldnt start the bike.

Battery is 6 months old..

When startup, system tests all ok.

But when i pressed the starter button, no cranking. Only a "tack tack tack tack" kinda sound for a few secs..

Then the system blackouts, reboots all over again.. N im at square one.

Tried multiple times n same prob.

Then tried to push start with my poor wife's help.. No avail after few attempts.

Fyi.. I threw clutch in gear 2. Shld i have used another gear?

Gave up and took alternative transport to work.

Some history : I had experienced this (unable to start with "tack tack tack" sound) once 2 wks before, but the immediate next try the bike started as per normal.

Anyone knows what is wrong?

Doesnt seem to be a batt prob as my lights and display unit are working quite strongly..

Thanks in advance!

It could be your starter motor. Sometimes back had seen 1 GSA facing this problem, changed the starter motor and problem solved. Cheers.

don't be fooled by the lights on the dash:- few options I give

1) batt not charging -> alternator issue? -> batt load test to confirm? jumper using a car batt(don't start the car). if bike comes to life than work backwards to find the issue.

2) batt may be charged but some electronic gadget that you may have added on is draining the charge off during rest.

3) the 'tack' sound could be the solenoid trying to move the gear teeth to the flywheel. something preventing it from moving to the end position.

good luck and hope you don't get skinned by bmw

thanks all for ur replies..

turned out to be the battery..

weird cos I just changed my batt last November.. and I have not added any electronic gadgets whatsoever. the bike is stock!

only thing that might drain the batt is the ERP IU..

well I don't ride very often, maybe once in 4-5 days..

now with the new batt it starts up heartily, but lets see how long that lasts! haha.

Just to share . When I'm on oversea trip. The bike was left for 4-5days at the Carpark. When I try starting it. The dash board goes black out and the bike start. After a few ride it fine but when i left it for 2-3 days it happen again . Guess the battery needs a good running in (charging) after a long period of under usage.

Shouldn't PML know where to connect the IU to? Instead you have to tell them? I used to ride GTL and only once every few weeks but I ll start it weekly. Batt was fine though...
