I'm starting my 2A again. Its nice to read your story. Reminds me of the days of 2B learning. :)

Sob sob* Those 2B days always bring back lots of tears... Up to now, i still wondered how i managed to do it. Luckily i created this post so that i can always refresh my memory here.

Good luck for your 2A! Its gonna be fun but waiting for the test date kinda sucks! You taking at bbdc? We should meet up on your practical or self-practice day! Can sms me @90991225.

Hi there

Im new to the forum.

Am planning to retake my class 2B next month at BBDC. Having mixed feelings about it.

Same situation as i previously had. Read my 1st post. No need to think too much for now, just walk right in and register again. You will thank yourself when you get your 2B bike at last.

I'm open to anyone who need help on going thru their 2B journey, doesn't matter that i'm a Cls 2A holder. Just sms @90991225 if you need someone to accompany you.

Thanks. I have a 33 year old Yamaha bike waiting for me. My dad's bike.

That's a bloody good bike! Somehow those simpler classic bikes seems to last forever!

Do it up properly and turn it into a 2013 edition ok.

Hi Veil.

I've been referring to your 2B journey for awhile. Very good read! I'm currently waiting for 6.01, TP is on 8 april.

Shy lah... I'm surprised still got audience for my old thread. Thanks thanks! Haha!

By the way, the whole 2B course structure now might be slightly different compared to my time. But in essence the pains and joys each of us has to experience is still the same.

All the best to you!

You're very humble:) my next lesson is u-turn. I tried doing it towards the end of my 601 inside the circuit. I try to look at the point im supposed to be at after u-turning. Any tips from you on how I can do better? Thanks!

Many thanks for your account of the lessons! Am learning my 2b now as well. So far quite lucky, all cleared on first try. Next lesson is 4.02. Can I ask after which lesson can we book self practice? I think I need to practice my plank and slalom a bit more!

You should do a collaboration with BBDC. Transfer your 2B journal into a small book, and sell to noobs like me for a dollar each. Confirm make money!

1. Find a target before you initiate the turn. It can be a white marking, a small piece of stone, some oil stain or even that tiny hole u spotted on the ground. It should be about 3m from where you are. Look down at it.

2. Once you initiated the turn and moved about half a metre, immediately bring your vision up and look about 5m away from your current spot. If got cone at the fat end, look at it. If not, find some target.

3. Remember to grip the tank firm once you start to turn. Arms should be relaxed and your body must follow the bike's direction.

4. Smile more.

Thanks for the tips! Hope it goes well! Also, is Honda SP a good starter bike? My friend is selling me his after I pass(hopefully) in April.

A bike is just our body. It will be good as long as we dun neglect it. I hate owners who dun take care of it and anyhow whack it while its in their hands. Then when it's time to sell it, say until the bike can fly. Next one who buy it usually suffers.

Make sure you know your friend's character and watch carefully how he treats his bike before you commit.

You can book SP after 5.01. Its ok to spend a bit more here coz better to practice more for the next stage - 5.02.

I rather not join force with bbdc. Every year duno murdered how many students by increasing school fees. You think bbdc will sell you my booklet at $1?

Just inform anyone who's taking their 2b to visit "My 2B Journey" in SBF if they need some guidelines.

Its 100% FREE!

So far, I know that the tyres need to change. He likes to speed and ride aggressively. That is what I am afraid of. I won't know if there will be any fault inside the engine unless I bring to a mechanic.

Its your decision then. You are the boss.

1. If you really like it that much, you should just close one eye and buy it. Mentally, you must be wiling to fork out money to repair this repair that. Your bank account must also be willing too.

2. Skip this bike and continue to keep a lookout for a better conditioned machine. If you can afford full payment, its always better to buy from SBF used bike mart compared to shops.

I think most probably I will get his bike because he is offering to help me do ovehaul. But i will still view the bike and see if i can handle it first.

Let me know if you need help. I can get some current and ex-SP rider to do a visual/audio check on the bike.

Good job!

Go book a few SP if you think you need more confidence before 8.01. Remember not to neglect your u-turns. Mentally go thru both the circuit and public test route EVERY MINUTE of your available time.

Watch how those taking their practicals. Dosn't have to be just 8.01. In fact, watching every stage(including 1.01) helps you in revising. Try to spot their mistakes, think about what causes the mistakes, how to prevent it and correct it if you were to commit those same faults again. Verify and confirm your analysis with as many instructors as you can. Different instructors will give different answers. Therefore, its now up to how your mind understands, processes the info and translates them into a physical acts.

The learnings don't just stop upon obtaining your 2B. Its a lifelong journey.

Good luck!

Hey Veil, I have decided i'm not gonna get his SP. Quite a few friends advised against it. I was also thinking that it doesn't suit my style. Most probably getting a Phantom!

I suggest a streetbike with an upright posture. Think about this, 2B pracs used a streetbike, right? Riding a similar bike enables you to improve faster during the first 6months of solo riding on public roads. Reactions towards mistakes will be faster coz you are used to this type of bike. All these helps when its time to face your 2A.

My 2B streetbike really trained me very well. Definitely much more forgiving compared to a hunch-forward posture when i made silly minor mistakes. A cruiser's posture is alright but you will need time to readjust to a totally alien stretch-out riding posture. Turnings, leanings, banking, brakings, pillion riding on a cruiser is really different and not very ideal for a fresh p-plate. Speaking from experience now that i'm riding a 2A cruiser.

Take your time to carefully choose your first bike. You will automatically know that it will be your bike once you sit on it.
