I started riding after 20 yes of driving.

Riding license has been on my todo checklist for many years. Only got round to doing it last year.

 

My 2A coming up in 2 weeks. Can't wait.....

Same here. Always wanted to learn but you know the parents.

Watched Long Way Round and Wild Hogs while posted to India. Then really inspired to ride.

Bought a scooter for 300sgd, rode ard compound for fun. First time, rammed straight into tree cos front brakes didnt work. Repair to dented steering... 14sgd.

 

Came back in 09, signed up for 2b and never looked back. Never felt so alive.

Yes, a friend who signed up for 2a last month told me his first test date was 21 Dec, but he managed to switch to earlier slot in late Nov. I guess I am lucky to have to wait for exactly 2 mths. Registered on Wed 5 Oct and earliest test date was 5 Dec.

 

Other than long waiting times, do you notice that the price has also increased significantly? From my memory, it seems to have doubled! Bloody mozzies...

They halved the number of students per test from 80 to 40. Hence the longer wait.

Yeah met him a few times when he was riding Pulsar.

After he changed to Duc, he disappeared.

 

Bajaj riders usually meet up Wednesdays. Seldom see him these days. Sorry.

I want pulsar lei. My friend said can get 40km/L

I get more than 40km/L with my Pulsars 180 & 200.

For the Bajaj XCD 135 I used to get 55km/L.

 

Now my Baby V only 22km/L and my X9 is about the same. World of difference in FC. But you must know that the Vara ride comfort is better although the power loses to Pulsar 200.

Quick check with seniors here, can the Renthal Road Bike High bar fit Baby V?

Bar diameter is 195mm.

im using the renthal 7/8" handlebar!

 

ive never heard of renthal roadbike handlebar. only the 7/8 and the fatbar

It's part of the 7/8" series. exact model is called road bike high.

So can you lock handle with yours?

my windshield is the givi model. not stock

 

i had to cut the windshield to accommodate the handlebar turning and handle lock. since its wider than stock than it will hit the windshield

 

also note that since its much lighter than stock handlebar. the vibrations is great. i had fixed on motovation balancers. reduce by abit. but there is still the vibrations

In that case will stick with my current bars cos I do not like vibrations. My ride now is okay just that the bars are looking tired. Got bit of rusting and scratches.

Most of tourers change to africa twin's handlebar. I heard good reviews. Maybe you can try that

What a stroke of coincidence to bump into @firestation while doing 1.01 at BBDC earlier. Saw his well-souped up Vara after lesson.

complacency leads to disaster.

 

to stay >10sec on the stupid plank isnt an easy feat.

class 2a is >8sec, i think. much easier esp since the s4 is heavier with fatter tyres, and hence more stable.

 

for 2.01, e-brake takes some getting used to due to the weight of the bike. but the killer is the bumpy course.

 

3.01 is the assessment which must clear before ur tp test... normally pple dun clear this due to immediate failure more than >20pts.

 

overall only 3 stages before the test, but most pple have to repeat certain stages to get to the tp test.

for me, i did class 2 1.01 yesterday and today. got a friend who did 2a 2.01 3 times.

 

gd luck if anyone here is upgrading as well.
