Everyone knows Ducati & Suzuki is not the bike to race at the moment. Take a genius to put that bike on the podium. Whatever it is, #46 is the genius and cannot simply discount him just yet. He will be at least on the top 3 if no injuries.

I want Lorenzo to defend his title. I really like Rossi, but I support JL99. He's had to work so hard to move out of the shadow of Rossi and I think that hard work deserves recognition.

My guess will be Lorenzo.

By the looks of his previous season, he managed to leave a huge gap between the rest in the rider's championship points.

But Rossi got a new bike. Gonna be a good battle

Lorenzo won because Rossi & Pedrosa got injured, meaning he's more consistent in terms of stability. As for Stoner, epic fail on the front set up of his bike. If this year everyone rides and pushes to the maximum without getting into crashes on practice & qualifying days, Lorenzo will have a very slim chance of holding his title.

It's viewpoints like this that make me support JL even more. :thumb:

If JL wins 2011, I can already predict the excuses:

1. The Ducati is just too much of a prototype. Rossi needs time to fix it. (or if Rossi fell off: Rossi was injured and couldn't compete)

2. Pedrosa's bike not getting the attention it deserves because Stoner is in the team (or if Pedrosa fell off: Pedrosa was injured and couldn't compete)

3. Stoner needs some time to get consistent on the Honda. He has to re-adjust his Desmo riding style and this takes time. (or if Stoner fell off: Stoner was injured and couldn't compete)

There will always be excuses. Simple fact of the matter is: winning is winning.

Let the games begin! :p

its gonna be quite hard to predict.. riders moving here and there.. we have yet to see what rossi can do with his new machine nor what tweaks he had on it.. one thing for sure is lorenzo is sure gonna have to work hard cos of the stiff competition.. and rossi gonna make sure lorenzo do just that.. but for all you know, neither of those we predict wins..

My viewpoint is of what happened last year and that was what happened. Oh well, we shall see, not a fan of Lorenzo due to his attitude. #27 ftw~

Ohhh yeaa. Lorenzo fastest for first test at Sepang (Lorenzo now leading 2:01.977, ahead of Simoncelli +0.318 and Pedrosa +0.323). Cannot wait to see this live on Thursday!

Love the stylized '1' on the bike (making up his initials). Not sure about the new A* leathers.

D*mn. Just saw the official results out now. Stoner is fastest :)

Don't get too excited whenever Lorenzo or anyone has the fastest timings. Like you said before "winning is winning", now i'd say that today, a test is just a test. Why get so excited, look at Rossi, he's done the least number of laps, obviously still trying to find the sweet spot of the bike hence improving on certain areas. Anything goes in a test, whether the team wants chassis feedback, engine feedback, front set up feedback or whatever.

As for me being a Stoner fan, i'm happy, Australian on a Honda, just like the legend Mick Doohan.

Yes and no. The point of a test isn't just to experiment with anything and everything set-up wise. The goal is to go fast, and to try to find a setting or settings that work best. Good test lap times relative to other riders reflect a better set-up at this early stage and a rider's confidence in his bike (or in Rossi's case, lack thereof).

I think we agree that the indications are preliminary (i.e. they can change as time goes by), but we disagree about how relevant or important the indications can be. To each their own.

Couldn't agree more with you bro. Love the 40+ grid last year and definitely keen to see what the reigning 125cc world champion will do on a 600cc. Also keen to see what Iannone can do this year.

I think this year MotoGp will more interesting as the movement of riders from several machine..

Jeremy burgess(Rossi Chief Mech) Comment "Casey will be the man to watch..."

At Sepang yesterday..

He did no set-up change,no new component & he is flying...:thumb:(in fact same set-up of Valencia)

Looks like the Honda boys will be the big threat..
