You are refering to adding on accessories, thats not exactly cosmetics.

Though...I cant fault it as non cosmetics.

But then, when you see a guy walk around with strobe lights and blinkers on the body....that does not improve the performance of that person.....we call that person crazy or cosmetically beautified?

Beauty is subjective my dear. Others may find multiple random stickers on a bike beautiful, but i find it horrendous. :p

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Let's say if I were to go ahead, change my fender, what would the penalty be, if suay kene caught?

if lets say i'm wrong n change fender is illegal, i gues the charge is just fine, est $100 range.

unless u never fix ur fender properly and/or somehow it causes some inconvinence to other road users, then the charge is different which might incur points.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

if your led is battery operated, or something you didnt have to mount in on the bike with wires drawing power from your bike. Its legal what. So many of us carrying LED bulb torchlights walking on the streets........

Same for your strobe lights and blinkers.

But blinkers itself has additional issues regards to its use, in the sense that your blinker must not be the type the emergency ghament vehicles uses.

I agree. If its to cover up scratches or if it does have some meaning/purpose.....its fine with me.

law states u cannot have additional lights, but it's understood the lights r on. if u have a lamp n not utilizing it, it's just cosmetic purpose.

i have led that's tapped to my brake, never been stopped. got once i press brake at traffic light n there's a QX behind me, however since my led is below the eye line n it's a small one, not strobe, wasn't stopped either (but i was scared they will catch).

inspection got 1yr i forgot to dc the led, got warned n almost fail, next few yr went with the led dc, all pass without any indication i installed led.

confirmed by a few forumers any additional cosmetic or accessories will pass inspection, even led, provided it's tapped to another switch, n not on during inspection. thus if inspection can pass, what is the reason tp stop u for having led?

Hey fellow riders. I was wondering if is it legal to change my bike front fender to another bike fender?

All other interesting discussions aside, there is no problem changing the fender. Dirt riders do it all the time.

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

Decorative Lamps

(e.g. Wiper washer LEDs, undercarriage neon lights, vehicle interior neon lights, flashing decorative lights, etc.)

Fitting decorative lamps to vehicles are not allowed as they may cause confusion and distraction to other road users.

Engines

(e.g. replacement of old or irreparable engine to a new or reconditioned engine.)

LTA allows changing of engines provided that it is of the same type as the original one. Therefore, LTA would require the following to be submitted for evaluation:

New or reconditioned engines

a) Invoice or bill of sales from the supplier of the replacement engine.

b) Certification from vehicle manufacturer or the local sole agent stating that the replacement is of the same type as the original one.

Swapping of engines

a) Swapping of engines between two registered vehicles is allowed, provided that both engines are of the same type and engine capacity.

b) After the swap, one of the vehicles must be scrapped immediately while the other must be produced for inspection at LTA.

A modification refers to a change in the vehicular systems or parts of a vehicle, which is different from the original manufacturer's specifications, and it includes:

a) the substitution of an item in a vehicle with another similar replacement which is different from the original, which the type-approved vehicle was equipped with;

b) the subsequent fitting of an item which the vehicle was not originally equipped or type-approved for, without the approval of the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

So to say the change of front fender is neither Allowed modification nor Non allowed modification. Its a grey area, they can still stop you and ask you to produce approval from LTA if they want to. Just dun get caught.

seriously bernardk i dont know what u're getting at, dont tell me install a hugger or fairing also need LTA approve, u're already contradicting urself by stating the obvious.
