Wondering if there's any tyre meant for dry/wet weather... More of safety purposes...

1. Last 2 weeks ago, I skidded from bike with my gf at MSCP when I about to reach my lot... as everyone know that the road in the MSCP is god damn slippery...

2. My dad and me were sharing the same bike and I am the sub rider. On 24th Dec, he skidded with my mom while entering the basement carpark to a Condo... The road is slanting down with a gradual left turn and then a hump and continous with a gradual right turn to the carpark. When I went back to check the bike if its ok, I noticed that the slope road, it had horizontal lines all the way from the top to the bottom and its a semi rough cement made. It may stop reduce the slippery while going down but not when making a turn as there's not fiction as well. Quite dangerous..

Wondering if it is the tyre problem as both time is skidded to the right side.

Now, I got phobia with road marking due to such incident...

Gf, dad and me suffered minor bruise.

Mom got hospitalise as she got pain in head but discharging today. (Phew)

And I intend to get a better helmet for my parent because of safety purposes. Perhaps Arai but aint sure which helmet to choose. Can anyone point me some good helmet but of course within the budget of not more then 600 per piece.

Thanks to everyone lookin at this thread.. I appreciate the help.

Yeah, I also skidded twice at the entrance to the carpark. Last time, luckily, only bike fell, I was left standing, feeling kinda stupid. I guess this is just a common slippery place, and special tyres may not help. I almost fell there once while walking.

Just be carefull, easy on the throttle, easy on the brakes, keep one leg ready in case of slip. (only one, not two - it will give you the chance to remain standing if you do drop the bike) Good idea as to go there without pillion.

Arguably, it does not make sense to buy Arai if you ride slow. The reason is that in the case of a fall Arai will not protect your head better than any other SNELL approved helmet. Arai, though, supposed to be more comfotable at high speed so that rider doesn't get tired.

You can buy any fullface SNELL approved helmet or a flip-up from a good manucaturer like Nolan (flip-ups so far cannot be SNELL approved)

Just don't buy open face Arai - its a waste of money

vee rubber on MSCP grounds.. sure fish tail when braking...

bridgestone tyres on MSCP grounds... wheels lock on hard braking.. but remains in a line... got marks to prove...

but end of the day, just approach carparks with ALOT of cautions...

if you have to go level 2 when reaching home, drop the passenger first... ;)

cheers!

Ya see some bikes slipped at the mscp when they are turning when wet , even my car skidded a bit when doing estop at 10km/h on the wet surface.

Just ride alone up the mscp and slowly.

mscp flooring is super duper wet .... i treat them as ice .... and try to keep my bike as vertical and possible ...... somemore most mscp in shopping centres are the smooth kind ..... absolutely no grip .... add water to it and it becomes ice ..... ride slowly ..... dun brake suddenly or open throttle big big suddenly .....

Does "bridgestone" tyres good? how much the cost? I also interesting to get one. My pulsar bike tyre very skiddy in wet road, especially MSCP. Got fall down twice b4.

bro.. we understand ur concerns coz we all are riders too.. I'd advise that whenever u ride "over" anything which is not of granite or road material, close ur throttle la.. u'll feel better. Of course don't weave around on it...

U didn't state ur bike model... Some good reviewed/tested dry/wet tires are Michelin pilot power, pirelli dragon supercorsa, batlax 002 i think..

Have ur tires checked and get them changed when necessary. Those hoops are the only thing that gives u the contact with the road...

Ride safe and smart... :)
