From my own personal experience with them. on 2009 in may or june

Bike brought to them : Customized TA 200.

I went there to buy a larger fuel tank. its a 20 Litre one i think. cuz that time i was using a Yamaha Virago tank. like 9 litres only.

The shop guy said he will source one for me. 2 days later he called up and said he got a 2nd hand fuel tank. he said will throw in a free spray for the tank so total cost is around $300. That time i was only a 3 months old biker. Not knowing anything i tried to haggle the price.

He said he will polish the tank till it shine and the spray they use is airbrushed or so. Said it will take around 3 - 4 days. And he will give my carb a free wash it clean cuz i complaint that there something wrong with the carb.

So being green i agreed. and i left my bike there for them to do whatever necessary. on the 4th day i called up and ask about my bike. They said its rainy weather the Paint is not dried. need to wait a few more days. I was like okay. By 1 week. they have yet to do up the bike. Finally i start to be demanding. They get back to me on the 9th day and told me its ready for collection. I went over there. They claim to have clean my carb, Honestly there is no difference in the feeling. He said my old tank is rusty and all. I said i want to sell it. He replied my tank fuel capacity so small. Its no value. Back then i didnt know they are supposed to return my tank to me. In other words i traded my tank for another one and top up $300 for this Suzuki Marauder tank.

Paintwork evaluation : The paint is gloss but theres waves in the paint. i cant see my own reflection. its like looking at your reflection in rippled water. The bottom of the Tank can make out the dried up drips of the paint. Its not a nice finished. I didnt want to voice out then cuz i do not know what kind of expectation is acceptable. Now i do.

So looking back at my own experience. I feel That if you dunno your stuffs well don't go there. being chop is part of the learning process i guess. Anyway if they happen to read my post. I am not bullshitting. FV 1247L. See if your memory serve u well.

A new fuel tank thought its like a trade in thing, spray job and a carb wash for that price is reasonable thought the workmanship could have been better. Good thing you didnt have to pay for workmanship.

I went there because of all the positives feedback in this forum,

the last time i went there... no doubt... friendly , good customer service...

but when come to bill payments... your jaw will drop...o_O

Few months later when going for my next service , I found out HLC charged me double than what others charge... the mechanic tested my battery , said must change. Voltmeter showing low. guess what , after 1 year, that battery still survive when i last checked.

I was a blur cock then... first timer... don't know anything , kena chop carrot...

the salesman, keep telling me how good the motor oil is..

made in italy, bla .. bla... so i give a try, and was disappointed to find out it does not suit my bike... sigh...

well, never try never know.... learnt my lesson...

Good Luck HLC.

Small parts , oil filter and air filter ... :(

I do not understand why they must charge labour since we already give them business...

Personally, I feel that the foam wash could be improved upon. Not that I'm complaining about the price which is pretty reasonable but after a wash, my bike which have a matt black fuel tank came out with scratches all over. Wasn't pretty happy about it and got to polishing for several hours just to remove the scratches.

Perhaps, you guys could take more notice when washing a matt black bike? Or maybe it is just my own experience and an isolated case?

hi 5! Same instinct! I also feel that the foam wash could be improved.

My bike has glossy look, and it's already very shiny..(I wipe my bike daily) :p

I'm just lazy to wash my rim as it's filled with wax/chain lubes/tars and etc etc.. Thus I bring to HLC estimated 3 months ago? I didn't bring up this incident because I tot it was normal.. Until I bring to MY and wash..

I bring my bike over to HLC for a wash only.. my paintwork is already shiny.. After they bring out, yes, my rim is "cleaner"* I admit that..

but fairing is very watery, they do not dry it for you.. (I feels like my bike just go under a huge rain)

those rim wax/lube/tar(previously on my rim), I could find some on my fairing/seats/box. (I would recommend to use diff cloth to wipe rims) :)

Rim is "cleaner" but there's still some dirt struck in between it.

So,in the end after the bike is push out from their "washing bay", I took tissues/cloth to re-wipe my fairings/rims.. :)

My rim is colored thus the "black" can be seen very clearly.. Anyway, it's ok.. I'm a guy into very fine details, so I nowadays wash myself.. :)

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Please proceed to this website/web link if you guys have any technical issues on Kawasaki Kips/KR150, I'll update the 1st POST as and when there's a new question. Newbies questions on the top as well. :)

Since the start of this post, i have been HLC 4 times in total with my previous bike.

Well, I know alot of bikes and its maintainence. Just that im lazy to diy due to my work schedule.

Long story short, out of the 4 times i went there, 2 out of 4 i would give a thumbs up. But for the remaining 2, well it could be improved. Price wise i cannot comment as is up to them to set the price. So we also cannot complain.

As for the foam wash, was impressed of the results but was NOT impressed when i got home. I know this is a free service, but at least be gentle to my bike. Lol...

So that conclude my review with this shop. = )

Their paint workmanship sucks to the max!! Amatuer standard. No preparation done. Part are just sprayed on. Promised good job but a simple job took 4 weeks and need to go back fcuk them 4 times and another 4 weeks to get it done. Horrible experience n chua told me my Harley is not continental bike so tell me dun be so fussy. Destroyed my tire due to inexperience but refuse to pay for it and act blur. This is my true experience. Mod u want to challenge?

i wont jump to hlc's defense and they are not my regular workshop to service my bike.

but my experience with chua have been good. cant say the same for his staff as i only try to look for him.

i wont say the paint job is top notch. top notch paint job is factory paint but my previous s4 bike spray painted by them was good. that was when they were still located behind sg post office. i can see that parts have been sanded down before work begins. and it took them 5 working days to get it done.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Been to HLC twice, first was for the snow wash.

Second was to replace the rear suspension on my X1R. Ying Hao is very friendly and will promptly reply whatever questions you have. Mechanics are also friendly and fast.

When for the third time to adjust the suspension as the settings wasn't to my liking, despite having to take out the rims and covers.. the mech did not complain. :thumb:

Overall, I'm satisfied with them. IMO, just know your stuffs before heading down.
