dermano, you are lucky! I got only 215km from full tank till first time last bar blinks. Checked with Gweester and he said that consumption was better before. Will be going down to check with K and T about other matters tomorrow, also might ask Clifford. Maybe he can enlighten me.

Is it petrol, i uses 92 octane, how about you or others? :giddy:

92?!?!?!......i thought our fuel specs can only minimum use 95??.....unless u add mcclean solution......

Wah...215 sounds really bad. Well i have a feeling my linked brakes aren't working too well or at all. Put my bike on mainstand and engaged first gear and tried using my front brakes, but my rear still spins. And since its linked i would assume by applying my front brakes, the rear should get the brakes too right?

With regards to fuel consumption again...the mech at combine motors said it might be due to my tuning, so need to service my EFI which he quoted me mid 100s. Its really damn frustrating to know that the bike should do better in terms of fuel consumption compared to what i'm getting and i am definitely easy on the throttle. I'm thinking of going KNT to check it out also..might get to see you there sexyh

sexyh.....i was doing about 315km including reserve and reserve blink only starts at about about 250km...(70% highway and 30% city)....as mentioned, the minimium i use is 95....but it is usually 98....you might wanna use a higher octane petrol....

like speedjpop mentioned, i do check my tyre pressure regularly....

Went to K and T this morning to exchange whole bike fairing with Wan, his sliver for my black.

Also got Clifford to check the air filter (K & N) and found out that the filter is dirty. Got it cleaned and bike seems to run smoother as i took it out for a night ride just now. Top the oil tank also with 95 octane the moment i left K and T. Will update this forum soon as i empty this tank of petrol. Thanks for all advices and also pump up my tires accordingly. :goodluck: :thumb:

Hi guys,

As for F/C, I'm doing about 70% of highway and 30% of trunk, I can get about 300km before the first blink. Full tank of petrol can get about 350 shouldn't be a problem. And most of the timeI use 95 octane petrol. What speedjpop mention must also take into consideration. tire pressure and riding habits are one of the high F/C contributor.

Dermano the link brake does not work that way. when you jam you front, the suspinsion will dive-in and activate the rear brake pump (take a look at your front left brake's caliper, there's a pump on-top of it.) As for the rear brake, when you jam it, one port at the front caliper will activate, and also when you jam your rear brake, you'll feel your front fork dive-in right? this is the effect of the front brake activated.

speedjpop How's your Genting trip?

Looks like this forum is getting more & more "busy", maybe oneday we'll gether all bb from this forum for a kulai nasi lamak & petrol run.

yeap.. i see the numbers growing slowly... maybe we can "port" then over to the other side? :p

tire pressure.. petrol used.. riding habit.. riding condition n tire used plays a part on the mileage...

Top up my second tank after servicing and it seems that the fuel consumption is still realatively high. Pump in 17.2 litres of 95 octane for a travelled mileage of 223kms. That makes it only 13km /litre only. If the tank can hold 24 litres then according to this present consumption i will only reach 310 kms the most till my tank goes empty.

Will continue to monitor and check the bike. Read the service manual at Page 5-55 and could be the fuel pressure regulator. will go forth and check this regulator and at the same time, inspect the fuel filter too. Will update this forum and hope we can all learn from this. This bb is thirsty....

why check on the brakes? What is the reasoning behind it, could you please enlighten

if the brake piston is slightly jamed... it will cause front or rear brake pad to rub on the disc... imagine.. will it be more petrol consuming to overcome the additional friction?

Ok i see now. But would then the disc be dis-coloured being having to deal with so much rub?

no... there wouldn't be color changes... gif it a check... might be one of the facters contributing to ur high petrol consumption
