A fellow rider told me he has also electrical problem something similiar to yours. I quote him ' better to change the whole wiring system". cos did just that and then everything is ok. Do not know whether is it good suggestion. :giddy:

yeah the bike will just like "on and off". if its the ignition switch, i suppose the headlights and dashboard lights will "go off and come on" again when the bike resets? but that doesnt happen. the lights on the dashboard does not go off.

ok this is what happens, allow me to describe:

1) engine cut off or bike resets (it happens regardless of engine running or not)

2) FI & H.I.S.S light comes on for awhile (as if you press the kill switch and on again)

3) after FI and HISS light goes off, just kick to nuteral and start again. no problem.

or if there's enough speed, i just kinda let it roll and it push start by itself.

i suspect its like what DuDu suggests. but may not necessary be ignition dirty. i suspect somewhere the wiring connection is old, thus not connecting properly.

will check on the ignition and electricals. thanks DuDu.

oh BTW i've checked, shake and twist the key while in the on position, nothing. shake the whole ignition, cannot shake at all, firmly mounted.

tried shake and twist the ignition cable and most other cables, nothing leh.

will send bike to check up again and let you all know the outcome.

Hi Dino,

Your problem is just the same as DuDu's, it not the ignition switch loose, that's why shaking won't make any difference, it the contact coated with "copper rust" . the switch need to be dismental apart and the copper contact need to be "polish" to remove the coating. Hope this help.

My present experience. Is the result of my past action

My present action, will be my future experience.

Thanks for the detailed info. i didin't quite get Dudu's idea of ignition "dirty" initially. but when you explained "copper rust", i get the idea...

Thanks for the explanation, and thanks Dudu for the suggestion.

recommended to DIY? is it complicated to dismantle the ignition?

if copper rust is the root of the problem, i'd like to know why is it that it only cuts off when moving off or warming up only? why doesn't it cut off when its moving at cruising speed (anyting above 30km/h) *touch wood*?

can explain? i don't seem to get it.

Sexyh: changing of whole wire harness will be my last resort. but if i have to do it, i have to do it. hopefully after cleaning away the copper rust like Kwan mentioned, everything will be just fine. will keep you guys posted.

Don't have to change the entire harness, get someone good with electrical stuff to use a multimeter and test for continuity. You already know which circuit is causing the problem, now it's just to test where the problem is, shouldn't be too difficult.

how came my only 220 first blink...i travel 90% on small roads...

it will depends alot on ur riding habit.. throttle easy hands will increase consumptions... minor rds with lots of jams n stop+ go will also increase the consumptions.i'm on 100% minor road.. average 1st blink 260-270km... everyday will encounter 2 areas with traffc congestion

I agree with u.. it will depends alot on ur riding habit..

Do not pick up every time u wana change gear, it wont makes u stand at the podium...

Change gear gradually... If you were to ride on the expresway, ride it at 90km/h..

It will save ur petrol, and save ur licenses too..

Wana speed, pick up or test machine, proceed to 2nd link... :thumb:

Currently, im riding with that kind of habit..

No pick up and ride at 90km/h or less, in S'pore..

I manage to get 320km on a good day and 300km on average day...

:goodluck:

Was it you that recently bought the silver BB up for sale by "ttp?" If so, you're a lucky guy.
