BB guys, need to check on the consumption of my birdie. How many km can BB full tank go? Coz I tried mine and the milage shown is bout 200 - 215km oni. Is that true? mayb bcoz I just got my bike and u noe lah, sometimes got too excited, whack the bike like there's no tomoro but dun wori guys, still taking in all the advise - no speeding in s'pore roads.:bouncefire: :bouncefire: :bouncefire:

Usually it can last between 260-280km... It can go more than that on S'pore road..

It alls depend on ur riding attitude.. If you dont pick up n change gear gradually, it will go futher.

If u always pick up n speed, ur petrol will burn faster and that is why your petrol can last for 215km. But usually BB can last to 260-280km leh...

Try change ur riding habit in S'pore road... :thumb:

I beg to differ in a slightly different opinion. When i first got my BB it only gave me 210 max. Now in my 3rd month of ownership and after proper maintainence ( clean air filter, syncronize the throotle valves and also complete wash of throttle chamber - all were not in clean condition), i am able to achieve around 235 till my fuel guage blinks.

Yes i am sure that jay_jay2212 said is also true, riding habits and other factors do chalk up fuel comsumption.

I personally feel that my bike is still not giving me it's full potential. That is why not at 91,000km on the meter, when i achieved 100k on my bike which is soon, i will sent it in to have a good cam intake and out valve/ shim check/ adjustment. Also at that same time remove any carbon residue around the valve ports area. Lastly a replacement to the CCT and cam chain too.

One last check should be done also, is that to check whether there is clutch wear that would cause slippage and eventually gives you loss of power and thus makes you trottle more.

Seems alot but becos i am very 'neow' (particular). Just my 5cts thoughts only. Cheers!

Thanx jay_jay2212 & sexyh, really appreciate it. Will take note of that.

Last night my clutch hose broke, gave way. Found myself at the roadside with absolutely no way to take the bike home. Will arrange for pick up truck service to bring it back to bike shop monday and have that particular hose check. Means spend money again.... :giddy:

Did the hose break or did it come loose because a clamp was not fastened properly? If it broke any idea how it could have happened?

Want to learn from your experience lah...

It is near the fastener around the left side of the steering area, you have to look into the left fork which is beside the inside part of the left fairing. However, as it is still dark, i do not know whether is the hose area where the fittings meets or is it the fasteners themselves.

To my experience, it is always the clutch hose around the part where the hose meets their clamp fittings. Not surprising cos it is also common with BMW bikes that have been around 5yrs or more. If that is the case, means have to upgrade that portion of clutch hose to an aftermarket type.

But definitely will give this forum an update when the bike shop check on it tomorrow.

Hey Wan, welcome home from Taiwan. Most probably will meet up next friday and hope to catch up with you then. I am convinced that they are enjoying themselves silly man. :cheer:

Hi

Has any bird owners here done any upgrades to their braking system, to improve the braking power of the bike? Will appreciate any info, price and place to install, thanks.

Hi MiddleAgeBiker,

Got my 00' BB's brake upgraded at Vector1, with full set of HEL brake hose (retaining the CBS system) but it's quite costly...

hi,currently, my '03 BB has upgrade to Magura pump kit for both clutch n brake, along wif galfer hose for brake(mine separate the CBS).. cost almost 2k..If u want more braking power,cn try change ur disc to BRAKING or GALFER too..

Wow, what does the Magura pump kit for the clutch do? Does it reduce the effort needed to pull in?

Quite surprised that BB clutch is quite hard, saw an '03 bird last night and tried out his clutch, although his had more spring in it, the feel was about the same.

donjuandimarco, how do you keep the magura secure. I had thoughts of changing the originals to either brembo or magura too, but my worry is that is it theft proof, that is my worry.

hi..

so far i've been using it abt 2 yrs n nothing hd happened to it(touch wood)..either u canvas it or install alarm..currently,thinking of replacing stock discs to semi floating BRAKING..quite ex, cmpare to GALFERS..As for clutch, it minimise the tension spring n lighter, cmpare to stock..all tis items, u cn get it @motoworld..look for Fauzi, n wil explain to u guys..

I saw it at West Coast, black in colour. Don't know if he used any kit, I think should be stock, I just went to try his clutch because mine seemed tight (but I think is normal after trying a few).
