Nothing found at Motoworld for the front fender extender, So decided to DIY. Bought 2 pieces of extender from Ah boy 1 front and the other at the back. Post the pics for sharing.. All in all the front fender was extended to about 3 inch longer and when fully turn to right or left this extender will not hit onto the fairing.

This thread seems quiet.. WHERE ARE ALL E OLD BIRDS!!!:cheeky:

hi baby inthe box, congrats on ur new bike..regarding ur question,i dont tink can use super4's.btw,our fren sexyh had his changed so u may refer to this msg below or maybe pm him for his opinion..hope this help.

BY the way, just for those owners who prefer to use their BB more for touring purpose. I followed some postings in overseas BB sites and installed a 2003 later VFR clip on handlebars onto my BB. The ride position is alot more relax and you sit up higher than the stock clip-ons. Some may not like it, perhaps the younger riders. As for me "an ah chek" prefers a more upright riding posture and does not put so much strain on my wrists.

Those interested can call me to meet up and i can show it to you. Ah yes, got it changed at K & T. Almost no problem with installation except need to adjust brake and clutch hydralic cables. Of course the most fustrating part is the new position for the ERP unit, damn "cheng hu". So troubesome.

u can spend abt 200-300 to change to a VFR 800 handler clip.. its is higher which can ease some strain on ur back. changing to a S4 type handler bar.. seen in UK onli.. not in sgp.. as for fork... i yet to see longer fork.

cheers :thumb: enjoy ur riding..

Hi SaintDudu,

Does the $200-300 include the new VFR bars? I'm thinking of changing also.

I heard you need to do some mods to the clutch or brake hydraulic lines, do you know what kind of changes must be done?

Thanks!

Hi Steriod,

I think I posted something on troubleshooting cooling system problems either on this thread or the CBR 954 thread, it was a fairly long post so maybe can do a search for it. Just check the cheap things first, like coolant level, coolant quality and mix (agent should have a hydrometer they can check it for you).

If you have the right fairing cover off, check that the 2 similar coolant lines going out of the radiator are not swapped. This seems to be a very common problem, because the 2 lines are identical in size. If I'm not mistaken the top line should have a smaller clamp (goes to overflow tank) and the bottom one should have a larger clamp (goes to engine).

25 blinks - Loose or poor contact on knock sensor connector.

- Open or short circuit on knock sensor wire

- Faulty knock sensor

Symptoms: Engine runs normally

1) Turn ignition off

2) Disconnect knock sensor connector. Check for loose or poor contact on knock sensor connector

3) Connect back the connector. Place bike on side stand. Start engine and hold revs above 2500rpms for 10 secs or more.

- FI light doesn't blink -> problem solved

- FI light blinks 25 times, goto 4

4) Turn ignition off

5) Disconnect knock sensor connector. Disconnect ECM 22P light gray connector. Turn ignition on. Check for continuity on the BLUE wire terminals between the knock sensor and the ECM.

- No continuity -> open or short circuit in blue wire, or loose or poor contact on ECM connectors, fix it

- Continuity, goto 6.

6) Replace knock sensor with new one. Short the service check connector. Start engine and check for blinks.

- Does not blink -> hooray

- Blink -> Replace ECM with new one (or borrow one from a friend to confirm before buying a new one)

Hi,

I'd like to poll the group, let me know if there's a better way to do this.

My question is, if your bike is an FI bike , and it is using the stock ECM (no Power Commander),

Do you feel a buzziness in your handlebars at around 3,000 rpms?

1) Yes

2) No

I'd like to confirm if this is normal before I spend any money trying to fix it. Will really appreciate all blackbird owners to contribute, thank you!

Got mine chaged to VFR bars and got it done at K & T. Cost about 350-360 including labour charges. Actually quite easy except that needs to adjust the hydralic hoses alittle. With some technical know how, can do it yourself too.

Hi MiddleAgedBiker,

Hi Hokage,

Thanks for highlighting this, maybe my question wasn't very clear that's why nobody replied...:cheeky:

I mean vibration in the handlebars. At lower RPMs like 2000 or higher RPMs like 4000, I feel no vibrations through the grips at all, everything is very smooth. But at 3000rpms, I feel an increase in vibration through the grips. I didn't call it vibration as it was quite high frequency, more like buzziness, but you can definitely feel it after awhile.

The bad thing is 3000 is often the rpm at which I'm riding on the expressways.

Understand this slight buzzing may be normal in other makes, but was hoping it's not normal for a Honda bike.

Pls help me shed some light! Thanks!

Don't seem to have any such vibrations from my bike. I too travel alot around the region of 2500 - 4500 rpm. FYI too mine is also an FI 2001 model.

Hi sexyh, thanks for the info. Hmm...sounds like maybe I really need to go do the throttle body sync.

Just a thought, do you have Scottoiler on your bike? The Scottoiler has a tube that plugs into one of the vacuum ports, wondering if that might cause any difference.

Dudes,

Anyone can recommend a good place to putty & respray my bird? My fairing cracked at 3 points. A smart ass driver cut into my path at Causeway Point & I had a low-speed slide. ******* "cabut" before I can get his plate number...
