Two mechanics told me that the extra 10mm will not do any justice for the handling for the bike. The extra 10mm will make the end of the two sides to curve the entire tyre will to curve too extreme. Anyway, do you use the extreme sides when cornering?

If you pull in the clutch, do you still hear it? If it stops when you pull in the clutch then most probably it's normal.

It's the famous clutch housing rattling noise.

Nah....thats is the famous clutch basket problem.Every bird is having them.

Even wen i clutch-in,the sound still persist.Sianz oredi but i'll never give th ebird up.Been my dream bike for a Nong-nong time:angel:

hi guys. i have a 99 black bb. had it for almost 2 months now and went for my first inspection few days ago. everything was going well until the brakes check. the front brake passed with flying colours but the rear one failed the test. apparently the bite is only 45% and in order to pass the rear brake test, the bite needs to be more than 50%. So, was told to send the bike to the mechanic and adjust the brakes (who has heard of a disc brake adjustment. Drums, I understand but disc). Anyway, went away and got to Rosli's. He sprayed some stuff on the brake calipers and told me to go for the test again. And so i did.

This time around, the test results was worst. The bite is now 30%. But luckily for me this time around, the inspector was a little tolerant and told me to have the brakes properly check at the authorized agent. He gave me a pass so that I can renew my road tax.

My cousin, who happened to be with me was talking to another bird owner (2 bikes behind me) while I was still doing the test and he told my cousin that the bird had this problem due to the linked-brake-whatchamacallit.

Is this true? I have to go through this every year!!!

So all bird owners, do you have this problem or am I the only one.

What pads are you using? Perhaps the previous owner used cheapo pads. Try bleeding the brake line, and if that doesn't improve the feel, change to EBC HH pads.

I haven't brought mine for inspection so I can't comment there.

Had the same prob a couple of months ago.. lucky the inspector let me go with a warning..

I changed my brake pads anyway just to be safe but it didn't feel any different though..

try to brake together with the front brake since its a combine brake system. The rear has 3-pot.2 pot from rear brake and 1 pot assisted by the front.ANyway the bird has the safest braking system.Trust me.....very useful when braking during cornering.:thumb:

Bro,

it's good to have a bit of brake cleaner and Lithium grease at hand. Both can be bought from DIY shops. Take out your brake calipers & clean the pistons using the brake cleaner. Then, spray the grease & it should improve your braking... Be careful not to pump the brakes when the calipers are out unless you got something to wedge the pistons from popping out.

Currently, I'm also having problems with my brakes as one of the calipers has seized up. DIY meself (clean, sandpaper a bit and lube) and the braking has already improved. However, it's good to have your piston seals changed if you have clocked high mileage on the bike. Seals should cost about $9 per piston ($9 X 6 pistons = $54 excluding labour)

hi guys. i have a 99 black bb.

Own this 99 bird before, almost every birdies had this problem, as all the above forumer had said, during your rear brake inspection, depress your front brake and rear break at the same time thus this is a CBS, then the brake test will pass in flying color.
