I think it depends on what oil you use. Mineral oils normally last 5000km, but if you use synthetic, you can go to 10-12k. I just follow the manual, they build the bikes, they'll know the best way to take care of it. I'm not too sure how long semi-synth oils can last, should be better than mineral. Can use google to check around.

 

I don't know if I'm crazy but I had problems with my transmission when I used full synth (missed shifts). Last oil change I used semi-synth and the problem went away. I read about this from one of the UK boards and decided to try it, and it was true for my case.

For servicing,prices varies.eg wat kind of servicing?

Valve clearance - estimate ard $350(include shims,top gasket,labour and something else....)

Battery ard 100+

thanks bro but i need it on a permanent basis coz i wanna mod the seat la.. anyway jus to let you guys now, A taxi hit me this morning and my bird has been hospitalised. Since i am claiming from the driver, i intend to change both my left and right fairing.. Intend to give you my fairing.. but it has been scratched quite bad.. let me confirm with the bike shop if he can have em repleced for a brand new fairing.. and i guess the most expensive parts to be replaced on my bike is the meter... can i use digital meter on my 99 model?

Mebbe u wanna scout the scrapyard or something for the meter.I doubt u can use digital meter for ur bike coz digital meter got extra wiring.futhermore ur ECM doesn't support the digital info.like fuel gauge and temp sensor.

I bought from US, but the site I bought from requires US credit card and US address, I have a relative staying there so he brought it back for me.

 

You can order from amazon.com also, they ship international and their prices are also very good. Just about $15 more than what I got.

 

But it's much cheaper than buying in S'pore. Like $450 cheaper for me.
