hi all,

 

replacing cam chain tensioner i read previously will not cost over 100 bucks rite ?

 

my bike often when warming up will have chattered sound as in ~terk terk terk TIAK...terk terk terk TIAK~

 

after dat when riding no more

 

 

but recently when riding the above situation arises even & can feel the bike like machiam wants to die off at low rpms

 

is the cause cam chain tensioner ?

 

Sounds like cold idle too low bro..is your bike fi model?..fi model got autochoke....overtime the autochoke needs to be adjusted..best to adjust the auto choke when cold..set the rpm to 1.8-2krpm..as the bikes gets hotter,the rpm will drop till 1.2-1.5krpm...

Are they kinda soft? they fitted my new springs with 7.5w fork oil, was thinking they should have used 15w instead

The 7.5wt oil is soft for me too..but its great for old trunkroads in malaysia...i recommend going to 10wt for sg roads and nshw riding...15wt is abit too heavy damped..

jbatRacer: ya mine is FI & yes the cold idling is ard somewhere u mentioned..the charging from 14+v drops to 12+ v when temp reaches 80 celcius

 

gd info abt the wax unit..so its operated by a spring valve which in turn determines the gap of the starter

valves which means autochoke also eat more fuel la..

 

a couple of nite before aft riding back from my workplace ard 13km..the situation i mentioned earlier occurs & i did warmed up my bike to 80 celcius everytime i stopped my bike for a long period of inactivity even on a same day

Best put 1.5 coz u'll need extra power to pump the oil to the moving parts. My autochoke lonnnng time never activate

Oh ya just want to add..when i set my rpm i did'nt use the tachmeter as a gauge coz got abit of error..needle showing 1.25krpm but actuall is 1.1krpm...so i plugged in my laptop to the powercommander to get the readings..

Best tyre for touring..rain,shine happiness will be michelin pilot road 3...bb accepts only 180 rear..no point fixing a 190..coz our rims not as wide as cbr1000r ones..

Z8 good as I heard for bb but I have not try. Can try also try pirille ST angle or strada or coasar. All this for sport touring tyre recommended. Overall depend on rider riding style.

 

 

Is best to get two or more compound on your tyre u never know ur might want to play conering.
