petronas is msia's state petrol. bike feels very smooth... my FC is normally ard 27 - 29km/L, be it sg or jb petrol.

IMO... shell gave me the worst FC as compared to others.

anyway, i removed all the crome covers on the exhaust pipes. and indeed, some paint ard the header is already peeling off and a bit of rust is seen. wad i did was to use some rust remover and then spray a bit of high temp black paint over it. i think its a norm for all bikes.

c'est la vie~

So you pump what petrol in sg? Esso or caltex... Anyway what EO do you guys use at FS? I just changed to Maxima 15w50... Good? or Motul 10w40 better...

To all the Sifu here. I’m from Malaysia and just got my new GTS last week and need some advice with regard to the GTS 200.

(i) I noticed that the GTS 200 comes with the ready available fog light casing but without the bulb and on/off switches. May I know what type of bulb (watt & brand?) to be used and the cost to install the fog light in SG and any relay is required?

(ii) What type of gear oil to be used and why? (SAE 90 OR SAE 140) As written in the manual, we supposed to use the SAE – 140 but is quite difficult to get it in MAL. Any problem encounter if we use the SAE -90?

(iii) Side stand as kill switch. I prefer to use side stand during stoppage at the traffic light and morning engine warm up. Anyone has disabled the kill switch at the side stand and how to disable it?

Thanks in advance.:)

Gear Oil every 5000, Belt/Ushoe/Roller every 10-12k.

By the way, anyone can advise where is the battery compartment for Joyride200 ?

Trying to figure out.

Dismantling the fairings to figure out is exhausting

open the seat, loosen the few nuts and a screw near the helmet lock area. take out the seat + the compartment. see the battery.

No wonder.

I stripped the whole bike except its seat but cant find the batt ! :giddy:

quite different from my previous majesty 25o which it just located right under the floorboard.

Anyway, check with you guys where do you get parts for SYM from ?

I intend to replace a worn speedo for it.

just a heads up for those of you who are riding the SYM GTS200.

Your exhaust is held on to the rear bracket by 3 bolts thro RUBBER BUSHINGS.

This RUBBER BUSHINGS can wear out and you will have a series of problems if you don't take note of it. Don't ask me how I know. :giddy:

Give your exhaust a little tug and see if it is loose. Is it fixed tightly and flushed to the bracket? If it is, then good you're all good.

If its not, quickly go to your favourite bike shop and get it changed.
