I came across a class 2a bike.

Which is cheapest i seen in sbf for 6-12 months. (Around 500-800) Cheaper, the most important thing is i like the design..

I think if sold i will not have a chance to buy back the same design and bike at such a price..

But then i can only enroll 2a next year 1st Feb..

Should i buy the bike to keep first? Or wait till i get 2a then search for bike again.

Is it a very rare one of a kind type of bike?

If not, no need to buy, because by the time you pass 2A TP will be 1 year later.

Even if you lay up the bike, the amount you spend for season parking will be $15x12= $180

And by next year, your battery going to be flat, because the bike was not ridden so need to spen $65-$85 to get another one and you need to tow it for inspection another $30 gone. Unless you are like me, "Gar Rung" push a class 2 bike all the way to VICOM for inspection!

So altogether prepare to lose minimum $250.

More, if the tires and rubber hoses start to harden and show cracks.

If your bike is a common type, then no need to commit first, maybe another bike same model will be on sale.

By next year, the value of the bike also drop, so you might get one like this again at this price or only slightly.

Last time when I bought my GSXR400RR also like this, bought at $1850, did up this and that, sold at $1800 when I passed my class 2, now also see similar bike same batch, FM batch, selling around this price also.

I say buy only when you can ride it.

1) The bike will rot in the carpark. Unridden bikes will develop problems.

2) You'll need to resist the temptation to ride it illegally, and we know what serious repercussions that could have.

3) Why hurry to throw away your $$? Used bikes like modded steeds turn up every now & then.

4) Your tastes may change in 9+months.

Yeah.. some of my friend advise me. If i am 3-4 months to class 2a then just buy. If not they bike 1 year coe will be wasted. Somemore the battery will die off, tires might harden or need to change.. Engine might have problem or what because i can't really ride maybe carpark or warmup only..

dun buy n keep, it will end up a piece of junk.

worst is when u finally got ur lic n can't ride it.

u tell urself how stupidity u r for been impatient.

owner want to get rid of it tat's why it is cheap.

i used to buy cheap bikes n end up paying much more for repair cost.

just forget about it n concentrate on getting ur lic first, there many better bikes ready for u to ride.

impatient will get u the worst condition bike (more haste, more waste).

that steed is a bobber. you can do it yourself when you finally get 2a.

its not worth it to buy and then not ride the bike. waste of money and time.

don't rush when buying bikes, opportunities are plenty around. another bike will come along.

worse come to worse, mod yourself la, more fun also. personalised.

If you really gian the bike, then just follow your heart lo.

Anyway, my advice would be bike the stock bike, and diy to the look you want.. more fun plus you learn more about your bike.

My phantom just buy accessories and get people to mod.

But my CG I DIY everything myself. Sweat alot, but learn alot more =D But still at cosmetic level and some technical parts only.

If engine ki qia or something, it's still up to mechs lols.

Adventure.

Err...there's stuff you can do about most of the above mentioned. Remove/disconnect the battery when not riding. Use a paddock stand so your tires don't rest on the ground. Engines don't suddenly develop problems just coz you never ride it lol...like that all the bikes sitting at motordiams all cannot buy sia. What you can do is change the EO once you can ride and nothing should go wrong, unless you already have pre-existing engine issues. The only thing you can't do anything about = COE wasted 1 year..that's all.
