Pilot Sport is from Michelin....

Just Some useful tyre info to add which r the more popular 1s...if u guys had seen any better n more interesting tyres juz add on the list

Having a 14" front rim n a wide profile 13" rear it is very hard to find matching tyres for the vxr06 n newer as for scoot tyres, normally 14" n above they hav gd tyres for big CC maxi and 13" and below usually they have gd tyres for smaller CC scoots. So the sizes for the VXR06 is stuck in between.

VXR 2006 and newer

Front 120/70-14

Pilot Sport SC (Michelin)

Gold Standard (Michelin)

Hoop B03 Front (Bridgestone) - Front Only

GTS 23 / GTS 24 (Pirelli)

EVO 21 / EVO 22 (Pirelli)

Diablo Scooter (Pirelli) - Front only

ContiTwist (Continental)

ContiTwist Sport (Continental)

Sportmax GPR100 (Dunlop) - Front Only

SX01F (Dunlop) - Front Only

Rear 140/60-13

Pilot Sport SC (Michelin)

Gold Standard (Michelin)

MC29 Sporty 3+ (Sava tyres) - Rear Only *Personally Recommended*

MC16 (Sava tyres) - Rear Only

GTS 23 / GTS 24 (Pirelli)

EVO 21 / EVO 22 (Pirelli)

ME7Teen (Metzeler) - Rear Only

K61 (Heidenau) - Rear Only

ContiTwist (Continental)

ContiTwist Sport (Continental)

Tornante (Vredestein) - Rear Only

Staccata (Vredestein) - Rear Only

VXR 2005 and older

Front 120/70-12

Rear 130/70-12

Due to the popular 12" rim sizes many sports and race tyres are available.

U are able to also find race compound tyres, rain tyres to even slicks

thanks for the review spy. but overall, which tyres have the best performance. i mean a gd buy. i'm sure ppl here would like to know bout it...

I dun ride a vxr06....but I personally prefer to hav the same tyres for the front n rear for a better balance with the correct profile sizes so I wont be using a different profile from orginal which might mess up the stability setting abit n being incompaitable at times.

So if I were to be riding the vxr06, I will choose pilot sport for itz manoeuvrability...grip is ok when new but after 3mths then not so gd perhaps itz due to itz manufacturing country..it used to be really gd or I will try the Pirelli tyres

Thanks for all expert. At least now i know this mech really bully me. I should change & find another trust workshop. Starting i change open pod & LV pipe, he told me i still haven't change Multivar. So the pick up not so good. Then pay to change Multivar, he told me don't fix the spring come with Multivar. Because i haven't fix Torque Drive. Wahh.. biang ehh... I know change every part will improve whatever the need. But if change until no ending also not much different with stock, then really sad. I will find other shop to help me fix the spring & see what are the different. Very sorry to make everybody busy to advice me, although it just a small issue. Because i feel myself like robert. That why i just want to double confirm only. Pai seh...

Wah, they really bully you systematically. I'm impressed by this mech way of chopping you up. I got my fair share of bullying mechs but not like this!!!

Just stop whatever you plan to do next. Usually i'll avoid the workshop totally and find another one but not before my buddies recommend me one. And when i make a trip to the next shop, my buddy will tag along just to make i wont get bullied again.

s a w a . . .

sava mc29 be it the normal sporty3+ or the race compound 1s..it had been the best I had used so far on my 2stroke....grip and manoeuvrability is wonderful.

I had it on for more than 3mths n it is still as working well...I will hav to c how it goes for the next 3mths...tested it on track, slightly "aggressive" riding, daily road riding n wet till now I hav not much problems or complaints on it..in return it does give me more confident to push my ride abit more knowing I hav enuff grip all the time

The above is based on my own findings n a fellow rider who tried the tyres wif me...pls also note that my 2stroke has a 12" front n 13" rear so to find a good pair of tyres for both front n rear is rather hard n my liking for gd manoeuvrability I didnt try tyres like Bridgestone Hoop or Me7teen which hearsay to b rather gd also. on the grip aspect...if u guys r interested to know more pls get more info from Hiap Aik http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=78

Thanks for correcting me... My personal opinion is that Gold Standard is the best for me. Guess you have more info and the rest could really make well with this info.

But where can i go to view all these tyres? Preferably at one shop if there is. Looks like there is more than i could expect

Gold Standard is tested n proven by many also..I hav not tried it out but being made as a touring tyre it shld be able to last but I am not too sure abt the "sporting" side of things as I nv tried it b4....

I dun tink shops will carry so many different tyres so I guess again it boils down to some review reading n the willingness to spend the $$ to try

There r more but when in term of talking about compatible front n rear there r only 6 listed n I have not add in the "poorer" 1s to my point of view lah

are u sure u clocked only @ 125km/hr? my bike is quite stock except for the rollers and belt. i've changed both to malossi. i've clocked 140km/hr. u might wanna try e fishing method. when u think u already full throttle, then try close half and then throttle full again.

the runner u saw might be using either e leovince or gpr pipe. and maybe he fix openpod or somethin. these 2 pipes are legal. sunrise sell the leovince pipe for $475. and the paperwork to get it street legal is around $50 i think.

u can fix alot of things to get ur bike to the extreme. for example, aftermarket pipes, openpod, multivar, deltaclutch, torquedrive, rollers, cdi, etc. u have to mix and match and suit to ur liking...

just my 2 cents worth...

i'm really interested to try the sava tyres but too bad it only can fit my rear. i dont wanna have an inbalance while riding. might consider getting both my rear and front wheels to be of the same manufacturer and model. guess i'll be sticking to gold standard...

I am not too sure how gd is the vxr06's meter but usually stock u might be able to c 140km/h mark provided u hold long enuff...it depends on the rider's weight as well..n pls dun tink 140km/h means it is accurate...sure bound to hav some error thus u r usually slower than wat is shown.

I hate the old runner's analog meter...itz crap

yeah... when the bike is in a standstill, the needle will stop at 10km/h and not 0km/h. so that means, we are actually travelling 10km/h slower than what is shown on the meter?
