should be the rectifier as bike can jump start.

it eliminates everything else

not the starter motor/spark plug/

you can have a new battery installed but it is not recharging i think.

cost for a rectifier anybody knows

If I am not wrong, the different year models are using a similar powerplant, almost identical, except the idea that after the 2005 model, it turned to a FI instead of the old pair of Mikuni BDST 38 CV carburettors delivering the fuel/air mixture. Anyway, here is some info I saved in my computer that might help.

Motor : Air-cooled four-stroke 90-degree L-twin.

Capacity : 398 cc.

Bore x Stroke : 70.5 x 51 mm.

Compression Ratio : 10 : 1

Valvegear : SOHC with 2 desmodromic valves per cylinder.

Power : 32 kW @ 10,500 rpm.

Induction : 2 x Mikuni BDST 38 CV carburettors.

Ignition : Electronic.

Starting : Electric

Clutch : Hydraulically actuated wet multi-plate clutch.

Transmission : 5-speed gearbox with final drive by 520 chain.

Suspension :Front : 40 mm Marzocchi upside-down cartridge forks, adjustable for compression damping. Rear: Boge monoshock, adjustable for preload and compression damping.

Brakes: Front Single 320mm disc with four-pot Brembo opposed-piston callipers. Rear: Single 245mm disc with twin-pot Brembo opposed-piston caliper.

Tyres :

Front : 120/60 - VR 17 tubeless radial.

Rear : 160/60 - VR 17 tubeless radial.

Wheelbase : 1,430mm.

Seat Height : 770 mm

Dry Weight : 164 kg.

Fuel capacity : 18 litres

Cheers...

I don't wanna tow it to a shop.. wonder if there is an option for a shop to come jumpstart my bike.. (i stay in bedok btw)

Hi guys, I use pirelli GTS23 and GTS24 for the last 2 years. Very happy with them. I clocked up 70.000 km recently and still going vell. I had to rebuilt the swinging arm and change the rear shockers but it did worth it at the end.

Nothing much, everything is pretty mundane in my life right now. A bandit will always be a bandit, just trying my best to ride it into the ground.

Cheers!

Hi,

Dude, I recommend you should go and read through the DNA thread as almost all the answers are there, there were a couple of people here before you who did that and they got "1 time, 1 good one" from other forummers as many of the DNA riders here are quite "lao jiao" already.

Anyway, the handlebars can be done. If you have the money, the '05 DNA comes stock with that, so all you need to do is buy the top yoke, handle bar, clamps. Sad news is you have to order it from overseas as they did not bring in that model as it was only a 50cc stroker. Or go and get a shop to just find u a clamp and drill holes into your current top yoke.

Headlight switch can be purchased, I did it. All you need is to either get a new right side control panel (the one with the engine kill switch, and engine start switch), in the middle, cut a slot and stick a switch in. If you want, I have the control panel for sale.

Cheers!
