aiyo, book 1 cr and try out the half clutch thing, then you can clear your own doubts liao.

engine stall or you fall off from the bike also nvm what, got safety gears all these.

just my little advice, cause even we tell you what or how to do, at the end of the day, you still need to try yourself to get the technique right.

anyway i know of a girl through my friend during my tp test, she failed tp about 6 times, so even if you can pass practicals through numerous tries, but you need to remember, the waiting time for tp is roughly 1 month, so why not get those techniques right in the first place.

for my prac 1 i took 5 times, why? because i can't shift gear properly.:faint:

In my eyes, you are the one.

In your eyes, im none.

first gear you can release your clutch fully, but dont go too slow because engine will stall, im in the same situation as you before, i thought always need to half clutch in gear 1, but no.

engaging half clutch in any gear should be easy, if you can control your biting point well.

when i was really weak at crank course, i used half clutch gear 2 for quite some time, until im able to control the throttle nicely.

good luck in your practicals, trust me, the day you got your paper license, everything that you went through at ssdc will be worth it.

sorry for my block of text :cheeky:

eh..? first gear can release clutch fully one meh? i thought release clutch fully engine will die off de? the instructors in ssdc only teach us to half clutch leh...and what actually happens when we do half clutch in gear 2? whats the difference from releasing it fully?

For all new riders. some simple rules for u.

for 1st gear, use half clutch technique. That means with some accelaration, pull in the clutch slighty or release the clutch slighty to play with the biting point in order to move the bike slowly. This is how u are suppose to do narrow plank btw.

For 2nd gear, release the clutch completely slowly. Holding on the half clucth at 2nd gear will cause u 2 points during the test.

It can be unsafe if u accidentaly accelarate too much during half clutch and release it suddenly at 2nd gear. bike suddenly jerks off and u will wear off the clucth plates as well.

If u all can remember, i mentioned previously abt doing U-turn with 1 hand...

It is not wrong to release the clutch completely for 1st gear. Obviously when u're doin this, its not in a traffic jam or trying to ride really slow(example..doin 8 secs on the narrow plank).. becuz your engine will stall.

Its not easy for new riders to ride with 1st gear with the clutch completely released, becuz u have to be very sensitve with ur right wrist. the bike jerks easily and to fight with the momentum, body posture movements(forward&back) plays apart. Gripping of the tank is COMPULSORY and the rear brake must be effectively used in order to use 1st gear with clutch control.

Using half clutch on 2nd (or 3rd) gear?? hmm... if i need to do that, the most i hold the half clutch is abt 1 to 2 secs. Try not to use half clutch at 2nd gear and above. Half clutch is usually used when u're slow or wanna go slow. So if u're going slow or wanna go slow, then wat r u doing in 2nd of 3rd gear?...

I hope this helps and doesn't stir and confusion. Pls ask if still in any doubts.

Wow thanks a heap Corse! I finally managed to clear my lesson 6.1 after 3 times. Now for lesson 6.2. 2 more lessons to pass till TP!

Just curious, what's the minimum requirement to clear lesson 6.2?

well, we will still observe if u are able to use all gears and downshift ur gear properly with engine brake.

Proper checking back(for 6.2, all chk back is on the right accept U-turn or IF u have a kerb on ur right, is chk back left) and blindspots before every right or left turn.

Lane changing abrupty? or lane changing without speed, or causing a car to suddenly slow down becuz u changed lane infront of that car, and its due to poor observation/understanding of the mirrors.

Following Distance.

Wobbling when turning or stopping or moving off.

THESE ARE THE THINGS U HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR WHICH WAS ALREADY TAUGHT FROM 6.1.

6.2 - Additional new things is the;

forming up and down at out school gate slope.

Inching forward when neccsarry at stoplines.

Rembering ur test route and ur 2 stopping points.

I can't pull u in... But when u come for the interview, they might ask if u know anyone from SSDC. u can say me.

But seriously... i wont encourage any1 to be an instructor. i have my reasons and its a long story.

Some pple can manage to be an instructor for many yrs... Some just do it for the sake of money with no passion to teach.

Me... i have passion to share the skill that i have learned. Be it as an instructor or friend.

I dont think they will check ur record. I know of some instuctors with records and manage to become instructors.

2Wheel - (motorcyle instructors)

4Wheel - (motorcar instructors)

Minumun requirement is Class 3 for 3 yrs. 2B license holder is a bonus.

If not u can still be an instuctor, but u have to complete the 2B course within a year. Lessons are free except the TP test.

Everyone who joins will be a 4w instructor. 2w instructors are selcted by the supervisors. They will observe ur conduct and working attitude. Some are just selected, some instructors request to be 2w instructors and are subject to approval. I requested to be a 2w instructor and waited for 1 year 2months.
