By the way, I'm curious about something...

What's the penalty for stalling on the narrow plank?

If the rider can restart bike without putting his feet down, and continue riding through the plank is it considered no points?

(Not that I think anyone will want to risk this on actual test date of course...)

If someone can restart engine without putting feet down, I'd really really like to see that. HAHA IMPOSSIBLE LAH!

I mean, maybe theoretically it might seem possible, but in practice it's just... Impossible. Really.

NOT 5 instructors. 5 TESTERS.

I believe so. He failed his test if i'm not wrong.

oh ya. pity him come out engine dies off already. really unlucky

Yup.. There are lot of mistakes we're looking out for. Even if a student does not have an immediate failure during L2, but the riding skill seems rather weak, we would need that student to repeat the L2.

Abt the timing, for our experience, and from my own opinion....

If i see a student very wobbly in the Figure 8, I may not need to time his timing. 1stly we can roughly judge ur timing. 2ndly, if , the riding is smooth without wobbling and with the the right amount of throttle being used in the figure 8, automatically, the timing will surely be below 11 secs.

I tell this to most students on Fig 8, Crank Course & P. Slalom. Dont rush thru ur courses. Riding smoothly is the correct way of getting thru ur courses. Which kind of riding will a tester prefer from a rider?

Finshing the course asap?

or going thru it safe and smooth?

Oh no, I asked if a student can fail L2 by virtue of an immediate failure out of curiousity, not because I want to what mistakes to avoid and clear my lessons ASAP.

But from what you said, I can safely conclude that I have to repeat the lesson because of my weak skills. Thanks for clearing that up!

I passed 2B test today. First attempt.......but it has taken me almost a year and many cancelled lessons due to my job which requires travel overseas at short notice.

I found the instructors to be excellent. The test was fairly easy after the strictness of the instructors when I attempted to clear each lesson.

And for anyone else who took their test today.....I stood out from the crowd as the only Ang Moh

I think there were something like 51 passes out of the 90 who took the test today

14 but who's counting? :)

I made one huge f**k up leaving the test centre - almost going into the wrong lane - lucklily the tester only gave me 2 points for a wide turn

I thought I had failed for sure on that one. Maybe he gave me a break because I am an old man at 36 yrs old - compared to a lot of the other riders.

Anyway its a lot on luck I think - I was very lucky on the traffic situation at both the U turn and the right turn by AMK hospital.

Now I am looking to buy a Honda Phantom as I am a fat *******. Erm I mean big size

I was so pleased I made the narrow plank - that was my nemesis during lesson 5 and caused me to repeat that lesson twice.

no the exit slope from the test centre. two lanes in to the centre, one lane out.

for some reason i had my mind set on the centre lane and only realised my mistake a bit too late

test route:

circuit: out from start, turn right to slope, big loop to traffic lights, then to crank, then figure 8, then to the right turn at the end for e-brake, then narrow plank, then slalom, then head out to road.

road: turn right at gate, then turn right at ave 9. filter left to turn left at ave 6, filter to centre lane. go all the way till past ave 8, filter right for uturn at ave 5 traffic light, then filter left to turn into st 61, keep left for 1st stop. then follow till end of road, filter to right lane to turn right at amk hospital to ave 9. then filter left for 2nd stop. then filter right to go straight pass ave 6 traffic light, then filter left for left turn back into st 62, then turn into st 62, then turn back to SSDC, and park your bike.

that's the whole route iirc.
