by the time you're reading this, hope you'd done well and cleared L2. Where you look is uber important. You'll automatically throttle/brake to go where you go. +u +u, next lesson can fly at E-brake le.

yeh passed my L2 today third tries. Got a very good instructor Jayabalan who also taught me during my 2nd tries. But i still dont feel so confident for figure 8 and crank, is it normal

Yes Jaya is very good I think, but I only had him towards the end of my lessons.

Bro just keep trying. You will get it sooner or later. It will come. For me it took me 2 times to pass Lesson 2 (both with Mr Imam who is also a good instructor and will try to give you confidence rather than make you feel stupid)

As you go through all of the lessons based on the circuit you will find you get better and better - but really after lesson 4 I found it best to keep going for those circuit revision lessons to keep you up to standard. In fact once you have the circuit mastered the road lessons are pretty easy because you have a lot more time and space between places you have to maneouvre.

My personal demon is the narrow plank (which I think is lesson 3). I could always do it if no pressure but once someone was watching I would go to pieces. Luckily one of the instructors (Chinese guy but sorry I forgot his name, although I do remember thanking him profusely after the lesson) told me to approach the plank at a decent speed so as to get a good start and then stop the throttle and decelerate as u go, increasing throttle if required. It may not be 100% the right way but it is a way to pass the requirements of the plank if you really struggle. I saw some during the TP test just going full throttle across just to make sure they dont fall off which would be an immediate fail.

Anyway bro, just try your best and ask as many questions as possible from the instructors. You might as well get your moneys worth from each lesson and I think they like you asking questions anyway to show your interest.

And Corse is Julian? I don't remember him being in the room when I got my TP result as Corse said he was. Anyway I think I only had Julian as an instructor during my first induction lesson. Very nice guy also though everytime I spoke to him.

The Imam dood, that's the only instructor I remember in SSDC. Very funny guy, always making the lessons much more interesting with his jokes, hahaha!

Don't worry, practice makes perfect. If I can do it, why can't you? It's only after 3 Lesson2s, 2 Lesson4s and 2 CRs that I manage to confidently tackle the hazard courses!

The key lies with where you are looking at. Try to sense your way through, never look at the kerb/bend/cones etc. And have lots of guts to squeeze the throttle, it helps!

i gotta say the instructors at ssdc wins my praise for being very patient and willing to impart knowledge. i also like the funny banter that they like to go into. makes for a much more fun class. my instructor today talked about going out for kfc in the hot hot sun. it makes it more relaxing and nice.

actually, the course inside the circuit is designed to build your confidence in riding so it takes some time to master them. and even after mastering them, you still need to be focused when doing each course. that is why it is really important to stay alert and be prepared. that is the only way to boost chances of passing. i've seen enough instructors fall off narrow plank to know that even the very best sometimes lose focus...so it is even more important for us to maintain focus.

for me, its all about being steady. just go at my own relaxed pace and not let anything or anyone rush me. at the end of the day, being relaxed and steady increases my ability to perform all the maneuvers and checks. so take your time to learn and perform the courses.

can't wait for my next fix!...er...i mean practical lesson :-)

Either shy or understand already, haha.

some funny questions i ask eg.

for the the checkback we were told it's against the kerb. I asked what if we are on a two directional two lanes road and there's no kerb separating the two way traffic and i'm on the outer lane (which means further lane away from kerb, like the junction where u turn right to figure 8).

for the slope if there's a car at the bottom of the slope do we still proceed or wait for the car to clear

Those are perfectly normal questions. If you don't know something, don't hesitate to ask, even if it sounds "stupid". Everyone has to start somewhere.

And yeah, what sparkerS1 bro said is true, totally different world on the road. I personally despise almost every driver on lane 1 on any expressway. :slapforehead::angry:

if you are heading onto the slope, you wait till the car has gone over the slope to proceed on. you can proceed when you are heading out even if there is a car plus bikes there...as long as there is space.

What happens if I book AFTER July 1st? My pocket is very tight (PDL + Lesson 6) at the moment...

Yea, the instructor did debrief us on the matter. I remember him emphasizing "Do not panic if you are still on Lesson 5". Did not ask him questions pertaining to the booking of lessons cause I thought the computer would set that straight. Plus the instructor say go find them if there is any problems.

Road Lessons are 6(1), 6(2), 7.

But after 1st July, it becomes, 5,6,7.

So... If u book L6 after 1st July, You would have missed 1 lesson. Which is L5 Road lesson. If u're gonna book L6 after 1st july, let the instructors know. We need to do some alteration on the computer.

Check back right. Becuz ur intention is to move to the right lane after the junction. :thumb:

For slope, the reason why u can't be behind a car on the UP slope, is in case the car might roll back.

DOWN slope, its ok. U are allowed to follow behind the car.

For Circuit, as many bikes can form up behind the car.

For The down slope, leaving the School, at the main gate, There's only enough space for 2 bikes to form up behind a car.

main gate can form 2 rows? thought must keep to the right side only since turning right

He's talking about going off to the main road from the circuit which you'll be going through once you've reached lesson 6.1.

when exiting the circuit onto the road, its either 6 bikes (2 rows of 3 bikes) or 1 car and 2 bikes (1 car and 2 bikes side by side).

also, go slow and do not follow the bike in front blindly! it is very important to form up correctly or you will not be in the right position. 1st bike always go close to the right line, 2nd bike always go just on the arrow. do not go to the left part of the arrow. the rest line up properly. take your time. remember to do blind spot check. this part always got people never do that check because it can be quite fast. so slow down and take your time...be deliberate in doing this.

when coming back to the circuit on the up-slope, only 4 bikes at a time.
