Thanks for the feedback. My research on X8 almost done. I am getting closer and closer to my conclusion. But i still have a few questions.

 

1. On a scale from 0 to 10 with 10 being the most important, how would you rate the importance of installing a voltmeter?

5. i too never install but hopefully dont suffer the same fate of batt die. i didnt wan to install coz didnt really like the extra module sticking out from the rest of the meters

 

2. Is the back compartment really hard to be opened?

nolah. just reverse the knob and press only. really fun and you'll be smiling at the extra boot space

 

3. Upon collecting a new x8, would you suggest that i change the tyre to michelin gold standard immediately?

ya up to you. i had to use the pilot sport instead for the rear wheel coz gold was out of stock. just do defensive riding and anticipates and avoid any situation that needs to do e-brake (subjective coz i suppose all tyres will just be "not so gd" during wet road conditions. just an opinion - no need waste $ coz if u get lucky (nail in tyre) then that would b a gd reason to change hehe

 

 

4. On a scale of 0 to 10 again, how important is the installation of a headlight switch?

personally, i wld say 11. save the batt.

 

another "mod" u should consider is the hazard lighting and 3m relective stickers. look arnd the sales forum for the infos

my servicing should use 4t engine oil or mineral oil ?

about how much is the oil filter ?

 

Mineral oil dude...cheap cheap... first 100km change ur oil filter and mineral oil and u'll see the metal deposits and colur of the oil, u'll be amazed

Hi anyone faces problems of a unstable x8 after a year of riding? went to bike shop and had to change steering cone bearing and did some alignment to the fork. However after riding for few days still have that feeling of instability especially when negotiating bends. Any ideas what could be the prob?

 

correct air pressure for ur tires, see the tires if worn unevenly like pineapple, fork leaks, wheel bearings, tire balancing if u travel at high speeed...etc.

Hmm... seems like not many owning X8 400.

I like the price but not sure about its performance.

 

Any personal opinion on the pros and cons of this bike?

I am going to go down to bike shop later to place my order..

 

I think i will be one of the last few buying a first hand x8..and now coe is $999.. relatively cheap..

 

btw, did anyone try the hard run in for x8? or the soft run in is more recommended?

hmm... if u wanna try... u can put ur IU inside the handler bar if u know wat i mean... the size fit in just nice... its possible as i know some X8ers do it b4..

 

dun put in under seat... save space for ur barang barang...
