guy the sensor dun work on weight.....it actually sense car bcos of a large piece of metal in within the sensoring zone. Hence current induction (or induce emf ..watever la) occur and the light will chg shortly

tt the reason why the sensor cannot accurately sense bike due to the small metal mass tt we carry (oso a reason why sometime bike beating red light and the red light camera got no flash)

second reason is tt bikers tend to hav the habit of stoppin the bike way too near the white lines, thus we missed the sensor area.

well said.. and so to those who always wait very long in traffic light.. you can actually roll backward to tat ur tyre are on those sensor... it works everytime im alone.... learn to look for the sensor before u stop la :dot:

so has anyone shoot any letters to LTA and TP regarding this issue???

Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see farther.

Huh... normally I wont just dismount and press the button for the green man, if small junction and in the absence of TP and danger I just move off...

If LTA removed the the sensored... I tell you it will cause a massive jam.

install magnets on the underbelly of the bike to cause larger induction so the traffic lights will turn to your favour...

idea only... works or not I dunno...

worst comes to worst we could anticipate the red light by afew SIMPLEsteps

1- when approaching red light, make sure u chiong like hell until RPM at red zone.

2. close throttle and make sure front tyre is about 3 metres before sensors

3. quickly but carefully engage FRONT brakes ONLY - this will cause rear tyre to lift up (also known as STOPPIE)

4. maximum weight will be targeted to the front when u slowly, skilfully, stylefully go over the sensors. but not foolishly ah

5. too much front brake will result in your own helmet triggering the sensors

6. this way, even if u exceed the red light and the camera cathes u - at least you will be summoned IN STYLE

ahhaa. nice one bro. and if possible, get the picture of them capturing u going across the sensor. =)

this is, to the best of the traffic light nearest to my house, the best position you should place your bike

the pic is kinda self explanatory

position your bike in the red rectangle with sprayed red paint on it

front and back wheel should touch the diagonal lines nearer to the vertical line but not on it.

please provide feedbacks

bike tested is a honda super 4. may not work on smaller bikes

this is another type of lines that you see.

i've noticed that the "sensitive" lines are usually the intersection part

try it out and report findings

That time i went to my fren's place and i was at the traffic light alone.. Riding an X1 and i was on the sensor but the traffic light won't change.. I waited like 10 mins until a car come to activate the sensor.. I was like using my legs to move front/back touch the sensor but with no avail..

i was in your shoes a couple of times too!

and to add to that, sometimes when the lights don't change, was also thinking should i don't care about the lights and make the turn, or should i continue to wait for a car to come and rescue me...

The Little Road there wah liao... Waited and waited... Cos there got a Red Light Camera... Then LL wait... and wait... and wait... and wait.. Till got taxi come... Happy... But the green arrow for the taxi appear to turn left.... Then Red again.... KNN... Waited for almost 10 minutes...

Jalan Kayu, the T-junction, left turn to Serangoon right turn to Yio Chu Kang road towards the CTE flyover...

The lights on the main road stays green, turns red, arrow appears, then dissappears, pause......... THEN TURNS GREEN AGAIN!

I waited there on a damp, freezing night in the wee hours after makan session, waited there alone like a fool for 3 WHOLE CYCLES, before I got off my bike and kicked the F#$&*(#@$^ pedestrain crossing button.

Damn pissed off. Where got traffic light don't turn green one? Cannot detect my bike? Then red light camera can detect right? What bullshit....

LOL.. sry but cant help but laugh.. i can understand the agony and the 'dulan-ness'.. i tio once near an airbase.. but not on a bike, i was in a car..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.
