1) Kawa class 2 bike slightly more expensive then other makes / models

 

2) Insurance also generally higher also then other makes n models

 

i mean comparing japanese with japanese brands

 

however with recent times , kwackers have said AIG provides competitive prices for insuranc premiums

I don't have the AIG Kawasaki (they have a seperate list for kawas) pricing list anymore with me, but from what i remember it's cheaper than the insurance for the other Jap brands from other insurers.

 

You can go down to Dili at ubi (same row as Planet Motor) as they sell AIG insurance, or Looi's motor. I bought my bike from another shop but they told me to get the insurance from Dili as it would be much cheaper.

 

End result: 2 year old Kawa ZX-10R, comprehensive/1st party coverage at $1197 (inclusive of gst), and i have NO ncb.

 

For a brand new 10R it's only like around 200 dollars more if i remember right.

AIG only does insurance for non-sports bike.

 

anyway, kawa class 2 bikes' insurance are the most expensive. be it old model or new models, they are just as expensive

lol, y did u attach your bike pic?

 

actually, just last yr dec i called AIG personally to enquire abt bike insurance, they told me they do not insure sportsbike.

 

i got to know AIG coz my frens super 4 is insured under them. 3rd party and its just $300+ considering my fren is 23 yrs old.

 

maybe they have changed policy?

Attached bike pic to confirm i'm riding a kawa sportbike insured by AIG. The insurance was purchased end Nov '06.

 

I went down with my gf to Looi's the weekend before last as she's getting a ZX-10R in the near future, and her bike will also be insured with AIG. But Mr. Lee did say that AIG will be reviewing their rates soon, so he couldn't promise a confirmed OTR price until we're ready to sign on the dotted line.

 

Perhaps AIG doesn't entertain call-ins, only people who go thru their authorised agents/sellers? SeribuCC perhaps you can try calling/dropping by Dili or Looi's.

 

I regret throwing away their pricing list as then i can provide some concrete figures. What i did notice was that the premiums for the bigger kawas were cheaper, but the premiums for the lower cc bikes were not much lower than those for the bigger bikes.

 

ps. To the thread starter, insurance can be cheaper if you go with AIG. But the bike prices are higher than the other japanese makes.

Sorry if my questions are stupid coz I always renew premiums through the insurance companies directly never gone through a third party..

SeribuCC, yes they allow, at least Dili does. I bought my bike from Pleasure Motorsports but the boss recommended i buy my insurance from AIG since it's much cheaper for kawas compared to ntuc. Since they don't deal with AIG, he personally brought me to Dili to get the quotation.

 

WaveK4, i don't know about other brands. All i know is that AIG has a seperate pricing system for Kawasaki bikes, which makes our insurance damn cheap.
