Hi All,

I like to seek your help to identify one hit and run cyclist along Joo Chiat Road outside Vic's Place Wine Bar beside Awfully Chocolate at about 9.45PM on 18 August 2011.

My mother was run down by a Malay cyclist about 25 years old. He has short curly hair, big eyes, heavily tattooed, wearing a black round frame spectacles. He was wearing a black cycling jersey and carrying a black pouch. The bicycle has some tinge of red.

After knocking my mother in her chest causing her to flung 3 metres away, the hit and run cyclist fell from his bike. Seeing my mother bleeding and in pain, a few passerby and myself stop him and requested for his IC. He pushed and shoved us before cycling away.

My mother is now in Changi Hospital having a treatment in A&E.

I like to request any eye witness or anyone who know the identity of the hit and run cyclist to come forward to contact me. I can be contacted at +65 8201 6328. Please help to post this around in other forum or facebook. Appreciate your help.

Thanks

Andrew Phuang

Actually, Pictures will work too.

Eg, Pictures of the place, the accident site and the mother's injury. I am sure there is also those passerbys that has tried to stop the cyclist will want to stand up and mention about this incident to bring it up. Surely someone will remember what the some of the tattoos look like.

And even if this fella was wearing a cycling jersey, he might not be actively involved in recognised cycling circles.

sorry TS, no offence.. but flung 3m away from point of collision?

a rider can't even generate out 1 bhp, no matter how pro he/she is..

but anyway, hope your mum's alrite and no serious injuries..

I believe TS. If you cycle fast enough, 3m is nothing.

Source: I ride bicycle for many years since young. 3m with my height and weight is nothing.

I also cycle, but to be fair, I think ts means his mum was hit, fell, roll and final position is roughly 3m away from initial point of impact.

Actually if gain enough speed, impact can be deadly, depending on how the victim is hit. Especially in a sudden impact where victim cannot anticipate the fall. Pain!

No more regrets.

I was hit by a cyclist before and I do believe TS meant that his mom fell and rolled from the impact. And yes, such fast bicycle CAN do damage to pedestrians.

Age plays a factor as well. I read an article years back where an old man was killed by a bicyclist cycling on the pavement.
