[Discussion] Is it still worth modding a TA?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I plan to do up my TA150 bobber style would spend around $200-300 i guess.

Don't really plan to upgrade.. This 2 stroker is powerful enough to feed my daily needs.

As i'm doing my poly year 1, still got 3 years i will definitely stick to this bike before going NS.

Need some advice here..

But after 4 years need to scrapped.

Not worth it. Save your money.

You have the rest of your adult life (when you have a higher income) to fulfil your biking dreams.

like i told you bro, the choice is yours. what BlackDawn says does make sense too, save the money to upgrade. but if you really wanna do it, no one can say no to you ;)

Got bike must ride!

you can mod now, and use it for the next few years, but at the end of that year, say bye bye to it. (2nd most expensive)

or you can keep it this way, ride it and dont mod it for the next few year, then say bye to it. (cheapest)

or you can keep it for this, get 2a, upgrade, then mod or keep from there. (most expensive)

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

The important thing is you should decide whether it is worth keeping this bike for another 3-4 years. If you have already answered that question as "Yes" then modding it by spending another 200-300$ is not a big deal. Afterall you should be happy with what you are riding for the next few years.

Cheers!

It depends actually. My COE is ending this year but now i'm choosing to not only renew it for 10 years, I'm planning to mod my TA200. I just love this bike (first bike ever). Been thru accidents. Plus, since there's no more new phantoms, what i have will be considered a classic. For me, modding it would be like an art project. But it depends on you. If you aim to get a bigger bike in the future, don't mod it. So far, there aren't that many phantom riders who mod their bikes. Not to the extreme at least. Maybe some from Raskulls MC and Samarians.

$200-300? I dun tink can do alot to make into bobber if ur bike us stock. And pls remember, after u mod, there is a thing call "pay bonus" to ur friendly lta and tp officers, that would definitely costs mote than wad u intend to spend to mod, depending wad exactly u modded also la.

Then there's also the yearly inspection u need to clear...

Just for your consideration la. Mod or not u happy can Liao why mus ask others? I certainly never asked anyone if I shd or not, jus do it, but consider the above points first.
