then it depends on the individual on who wants to believe who. Becos there're some discrepancies on the results.

Magazine reviews cannot be trusted 100% as there may be commercial gains involved. Thats why I personally try out the pads then decide. Things I've never tried before I can't say. Only if the source is trustworthy then I'd recommend.

So which pads do u recommand?

Maybe which pads have the least stopping dist?

Max blast temp or max constant the temp?

What I mean is magazine could come out with pads testing under controlled situation.

So do have the equipments, data logger or anything that support ur claim rather than timing on the track cos tires, brake MC,rotors condition and pads do play a part in over all braking perforamce.

The point is they can give stopping dist and with all the equipments that ensure everything is constant so that it will not distore the result....

One guys sells a product u give results and spec the other just gave u personal review and friend's review, which would u choose, provided u had nv seen them before?

Just my $0.02 worth.

P/S: I not selling anything...... hee hee

Goldfren brake pads might be good for braking but your rotor gone man! You can try Ferodo pads(normal type) for the front though Ferodo eat rotor a little bit they are good in wet and dry. Gives good feedback with steel braided lines. But if you can wait, Ferodo already have a sinitered metal pads out already but they have not reached Singapore yet. :p

Using the Goldfren HH brake pads and felt the performance is quite good... but saw some forumers commenting that Goldfren eat up the rotors..

any further comments regarding this issue?

Using that as well. AD material for my rear.

Good value for money cost $15 DIY.

But pls prep the rotor before installing.

AD are non sintered ceremic material should be friendly to rotors.

yupz

cost the same to me.

Bought it at FJT yesterday afternoon. Very helpful staff. Weda Motor next door also was very helpful in my enquiries about the GoldFren brake discs.

How do you prep the rotor? Any links or guides?

Previous pads were SBS non-sintered ceramics also....

Posted

220 grit wet sand paper, circle sand the rotors with water, and wipe clean with a damp cloth... no brake cleaners or solvents. This will good a good bunch of the build up off of the rotors.

Why prep the rotors?

The simple answer is friction. BUT- that's only part of the answer!

Brake pads work with a combination of TWO FRICTION TECHNOLOGIES:

1) ABRASIVE FRICTION

This involves the braking of molecular bonds between the pad material and the iron in the brake disc. Pads that function on this basis (typically organic pads) tend to have a high wear-rate and low resistance to high-temperature brake fade.

2) ADHERENT FRICTION

Adherent friction is developed when a transfer-film of the same compound of the pad material is deposited as a very thin 'film' on the surface of the rotor.

In this instance, the friction is caused by a breaking of molecular bonds between the two like friction materials amongst themselves (one on the pad and one on the surface of the rotor)

So there will a built up of pads material on the rotors, if u didnt prep them and

bedding go wrong. How to have better brake when everything was wrong in the first place?
