Hi guys! I just buai my 954. :cry: Luckily got frame slider. I'm thinking of getting more protecting stuffs for my bike. Ok,I get another new pair of frame silder. I'm thinking of buying a new

1) pair of swing arm slider

2) engine crank case slider

Anyone got any lobang or go where to get good one?

 

Ya, I've seen bike wif those carbon fibre engine crank case cover. Motorworld selling $700. Tat's too expensive for me. So is there any other type of engine crank case cover which is cheaper but at least often some protection?:confused:

Hi guys, need some advise from U all. 2 days ago, I just crash my CBR954. Now at garage waiting for repair. Well, Some minor scratches on the left mirror and clutch lever. But the major damage is the left side engine gear box crankcase. Tat cost me $52 to replace a new one. But today just go to the garage again to see my bike. The worst thing happen, mechanics show me tat my inner crankcase also broke. sh*t....if replace a new one...at least $3k. So my mechanic told me he send to someone to do welding so to avoid replacement which cost a bomb.

 

So after this crash...I'm so afraid tat the same thing will happen again. So any guys out there can tell me how can I protect this crankcase? Oh well, I planning to get a set of crankcase slider. Dunuo will help or not? And motorworld got sell a set of carbon fibre protection cover....cost $700. But it's over my budget. So is there any other protection kit which I can buy to protect it?:cry: :cry:

Dewei, frankly speaking, if u buang ur left side and a fragile thing like mirror can suffer only minor scratches, i dun see the reason how come ur inner crankcase can be damaged.

 

Care to reveal which shop u went to?

 

Too bad cant help u on the accessories for repair, but i would say, get everything done and for protection things u wanna get, try to get only things which is very essential and hope u will move on from this and gain the experience to understand ur bike more b4 pushing it too hard.

Ok,my bike is fitted with just a set of frame slider. So the fairing is ok. But the left engine crankcase shd have knock on the floor...maybe impact too big...the inner case also broke. This is wat I think lah....coz during the crash...I was throw to the divider and I dun realli see how by bike crash. But I did saw my bike slide on the road for quite a distance coz it's raining.

 

Btw...thanx for the concern and ur advise. Maybe I shd get use to the brake of 954.

Than your mag coil also gone case laio lor.

Like that the impact must be super big laio.

where you send your bike to repair???

the mirror is design to fold in on impact rite ? my r1 when kana kiss a55 oso not much damage , but fairings suffer more damage .

Dewei,but impact to the inner crank ,is something serious.Dont think your bike

can go in to stress again.So i thiink your mag coil also kena right.

Lukily the coil never spoil. I send it to Ubi for repair. Well,the shop is call (Planet...dunuo wat)...the boss call Ah Chong.

 

It cost me $560 to done up everything....

1) change a new outer left case and a gasket....$52+$7

2) 4 bottle of Motul competition 4T ($22 each)

3) Gear lever replacement (Original)....$50

4) New pair of frame slider $60

5) Inner engine case...too expensive to change...$3000 plus...so send for welding...cost abt $300

Well, I not sure the of the bike shop name. I've been servicing since class 2B. I think the shop call (Planet motorcycle). The boss call Ah Chong. The shop located at Ubi....the shop is in between AS Poon and a car servicing shop.

Hope U all can justify my thinking if wrong. Ok...all the damage part like outer case, gear lever...I've replace it. Is just tat my engine inner case I can't afford to replace...too expensice. Ok...I kana 1 lobang at the bottom of the inner case. Around 1/4 the size of my palm. This is wat I think..."If welding is done up probably.....I dun see any problem wif it. Coz welding itself is even much strong than the parent metal. So I think it;s still ok. If the welding is done up probably...which my mechanic send to some welding specialise....the crack will not be obvious. I see my company welding techician can do welding beautifully until U can't even see the crack".

 

Ok....this it wat I think therotically. Practically....the skill of the welder,the type of welding....contribute alot to the final result.

i personally dont think welding back is stronger than oringnal.

but since he say it ok,than should be ok ba.

dewei, i suggest you take it slow with this bike, dun push yourself first. get use to the bike, its quite a major leap from a 400cc to a 1000cc bike.

ride safely.

So, the design of the mirror is good, mine sure crack all the way.

 

Total repair fee not that much mah, think the shop not eating u.

i was afraid the shop might eat u in the 1st place.

Hope the welding provide good results.

Must change good tires and good brake pads soon man.

Remember not to push hard again man.
