I'm a 38 yrs, married with 3 kids.. Juz get my 2b on April but have been holding to class 3 for 10 years.. Been driving since then. So when times are bad, sold my car and down to riding, been riding a gilera, YBR and now a kup.. But as I'm 1.7m n will pillion my wife most of the time I don't think kups suits me... As my wife always complaining dat The bike vibrate like hell if I ride above 70km/h... So here it goes.... I wanna get a good bike dat can last coz I don't intend to upgrade to 2A.. After few weeks of research, I'm down to these bikes:

1) FZ16

2) varadero 125

3) KTM 125duke

Trying to convince my wife dat not all class 2b bikes vibrate at cruising speed (90-100).. But she says pillion seats is important too.. Coz my wife is a bit plum.. N small pillion seats is an issue to her too..so if any bros out there could load me some info on these bikes would really appreciate it.. Will it vibrate while cruising?(90-100).. Especially with pillion.. Does pillion seats comfortably?but not intrested in auto scooter.. And most important durability, coz I intend to ride around 4-5 years.. Price wise is not dat really an issue to me but if I can save on the bike price dat would be good too..so, can we get the ball rolling..thank you in advance..

I think u should wait till 2 u get 2A then upgrade to bigger bike like super 4. I am riding Fz16 currently, it starts to vibrate when close to 100km/h and top at 115km/h. so may not be a good choice for u. next KTM 125duke is too expensive that price u can get a 2A bike with better performance. its only a few months away for u to learn 2A so dont bother upgrading to another 2B bike its just a waste of money

Agree with those who would go with the idea of waiting for awhile more and go for 2A, then get 2A bikes..since money is not a big issue then super 4 would definitely make the both of you happy....Most 2B bikes wont really offer good cruising comfort at 90-100kph i think.. Apart from phantom...

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Also, bit off topic. As for seat, you could try to customize it to get it to be more comfy by going down to shops to get it rewrapped.

A phantom is also a really good choice for pillions as it is very comfy as what the peeps here have posted above.

Unless you are willing to travel 80kph max. Class 2b bikes are never comfortable from 80kph onwards. If you aimed to please your wife, go for scooter. I tried my first scooter and my wife loves it. For the first time in my riding years, she asked when i can change to bigger cc scooter.

Comes stock with big storage compartment - dont have to use car and still do groceries. If you add a top box. Hula!

Comes stock with comfy for both rider and pillion - comfortable than standard 2b bike. You can go for aftermarket for more comfy seat

For aged rider - this is also a good alternative. Relax and stress free (so called one hand)riding.

Last but not least, i used to think like you. Stopped at 2b license only. But riding is very addictive and full of temptation to change bike every time you ride past a bike showroom, surf internet etc.

Best of both class range. 2A max up to 400cc, comfortable cruising in Sg context.

You'll have wider range from Big scooter, Honda Super Four, Suzuki GSR400, Yamaha XJR400 to name a few.

Yamaha RXZ - 2007 till date

Yamaha YZF R6 2008 - Jan 08' - Nov 11'

Based on the 3 bikes you mentioned, Vara 125 has the largest pillion seat. However power and torque on those bikes are only so-so if you pillion.

I had the same predicament myself cos wife always wants a big back seat.

With two up and a huge back seat and enough torque to cruise along at 100-120km/h with not much vibrations, I can only suggest that you get a Piaggio X9 or X8 200cc. You will like the fact that it will pull along with no vibrations and wife will love the back seat.

However if you really must get a bike, try searching for a Bajaj Pulsar 200cc. It has enough power for two up and is pretty low on maintenance.

Good choice ! At least class 2A got more choice. Get a super 4 or wad... Cruising above 100km/hr won't vibrate much also. :)

I feel class 2A bike is waste in Singapore. Roads have max speed limit of only 90 km/hr. Its waste to ride a 400CC at such low speeds. The amount you spend for taking up the license, maintenance of the bike etc is waste. For Singapore a 250CC bike is perfect. Unfortunately 200CC is the limit for 2B. So a 200 CC like Pulsar or Phantom is the right bike. You save money on fuel, oil change, general maintainance and also save the time and money for the license upgrade. The thrill of riding a 200C may be like 80% and riding a super 4 is only 85% and may be Hayabusa is 100%. Riding a bike itself is a great think from public transport to riding a 2B bike is a 80% jump. From 2B to 2A is just another 5% jump. Not worth it in my opinion, but thats just my opinion :)

To me Class 2A is perfect for singapore road. Perfect to cruise at 90-100kph. Can go slow at 80kph too. Anytime you need abit more torque to just overtake a vehicle is perfect. Not too fast and not to slow. Sometimes that bit of torque at hand helps alot.
