There is no more first hand, and 2nd hand ones are nearing 10 years old and more.

End of the day its your money your call. Personally I think its not worth it, plus the insurance is a killer for p plate.

hmm... but i find tat krr is a suitable bike for me... is there any other bikes lyk krr... i wanted to get honda sp... after tat i changed my mind to krr... ??? i'm so confused nw...

What about it? Insurance for it is expensive because its a sportsbike, its Kawasaki and many people get into accidents with it, which isn't surprising because its a favourite among jackpot racers. It has powervalve, uses 2T and drinks petrol at 20km/l plus minus at stock.

Posted

Personally I riding one myself, 2T if you whack then you have to top up more often. Petrol wise, I get about 28km/l traveling at 100km/h on expressway. If you really want to get krr, I think there is a few good condition krr for sale in the garage. Just bring down to your trusted work shop to check before purchasing as you know most of the krr now reaching the age of 10 soon. As for insurance, mine was 1k and I am 20( not a p-plater).

Go for wat ur heart desire the most. U wont wanna be riding another bike and when a krr ride past u and u start drooling over it do u?=).

My advice is to go with some one who has experience with bikes, preferably with knowledge of the bike shops in Bt Merah or at least he knows something about the bikes that you are eyeing. If not, well no harm checking them out by yourself but DO NOT commit yourself to buying on the first visit, be careful of sales tactics pressuring you to buy immediately. Also, be aware of sales terms and jargon like 'machine price', 'otr (on the road) price, 1st or 3rd party insurance, coi, transfer fees, admin fees, inspection fees, coe expiry date, and the hidden interest when you choose to pay by instalments...

I used to be a car person. Then one day, I woke up and became a biker.

Ex rides:

Nissan Sunny 1.6

Nissan Cefiro 2.0

Honda CBR 150 R

Honda CBR 400 RR Fireblade

Current rides:

Yamaha 2008 YZF-R1

KIA Cerato Forte 1.6 Well OK sometimes a car comes in handy.

"Honda Krr" swee man.. Does it comes with pgm cuberator too? XD

TS, I see you have got 2 conditions here considering.

1)Sports bike

2)sticking to 2B for some time

Insurance for P-plate usually starts some 700 to 900 with loading (applies to all full fairing bike, why? The insurance company actually thought the seat have some adrenaline spikes that when we sit on out seat, we get excited as if sexually deprived)

A 22 would only be slightly cheaper than the 18 to 21 range. But MUCH expensive than a 25 onwards range. (I've seen the agent book and I know). Some kinda trick they playing huh?

2B sports bike just got spice up with many different variant. Per se.. 125cc range. It's expanding. So much to choose from! CBR125rr, yzf-r125, Rieju RS3, RS125, Derbi gpr125, cagiva mito, megalli 125 (which I serious doubt you would want to get)... least the 150cc range.

From the above mention list I suppose the word "budget" will scream into the minds of all readers here. Right?

So reality check #1. I suppose you are low in capital?

Just add 1.2K for insurance and maybe 120 for transfer fee and 180 for agreement fee. Not talking about downpayment. You're already choking on 1.5k dude. Right? Roadtax 64/year, season parking 25... 1.6K atleast?

You like to have a bike that last for a period of time.

KRR, SP gives you the thrill to go like anywhere 120 to 150km/hr (I have no clue.. I ever heard a 180 b4) But I do ride with one and I know they are fast machine for sure.

Sticking on to them CAN BE cheap. BUT!

There were commonly many MANY case where buyer of that bike complaint upon the 3th day into riding.. their casket leak, chain snap for no reason, engine tempted with hence problematic, fuel consumption super low, piston block all the times, overhual not done properly, lots of carbon deposit in the pipe, pipe kana 'operated' b4.. etc etc etc.

2nd costing only talks about transfer fee, insurance, agreement fee. (that about it I guess) Compared to brand new bike (COE is already something. Right? :D) the costing is definitely super low.

But brand new bike is almost maintenance free. Older bike needs lots of attention. So you gotta ask you like to

pay hefty first, slowly drain your money

or

pay little first, drain your money at all the un-expected period.

Do also consider spare parts. Some machine simply gotta sit in the workshop for more than a month for spare parts and the owner LL have to pay installment for something he didn't ride for.

Reality check #2. It's not a digimon gadget you play during primary sch nor neopets that you can simply register an account and leave it when you're sick. You actually gotta pay for it, even sitting at the carpark man. :D

You grew sick of it, you gotta also find a way to sell it man. :D

So in the end. Weight your options, get a Honda Krr

XD
