If you are bothered by the few hundred difference in premium, you might want to consider that the mechanical upkeep of S4 is higher. It's good to follow the advice of living within yr means and not to be a slave to yr transport.

well said:)

Hey guys is it true that the class 2A cb400 is safer as compared to 2B bikes? I was comparing between the handling, breaking system and tire size... Am taking 2A soon and not very sure is it a good choice to upgrade to 2A, for me I think safety would be placed in front of looks and speed. Thanks!

Yes, I'm riding S4 now. felt its more stable on the road and the extra power help me to avoid danger situation easily. BUT most safely is YOUR riding attitude.

My personal view, Cb400's rear brake = Cannot make it.

By the way for Class 2a not much choices to choose. Period.

It's normal for bike's rear brake weaker then the front.

I agree with the others that it is the rider that matters. But what I can say abt having a bigger bike is that it is more stable compared to 2b bikes due to the tyre size. U can travel at a higher speed w/o feeling like gonna 'fly away'.

Correct!

Handling wise, u will not be used to a bigger cc bike when u upgrade. Need to take some time to get used to it. THis is where the rider matters.

Different type of bikes got its handling style differently, just like if we change girl friend, they will have different character right?

Brake system....can't comment. By right a bigger cc bike shld be using a better brake system.

ABS is good but we will pay more for sure.

i totally agree on the last part where u definitely need something with lots of torque to get you out of dangerous situations. many people say 2stroke 2b bikes can race with 2a etc, but have they ever thought of the torque difference between the two machines. a 150cc is always different from a 400cc. so yes, it's safer if u need that extra power at that critical moment.

Basically, no matter which class is the bike, one can use it wisely and safely, all depent on rider techniq and attitude. I'm riding since 13years old starting from Honda CUB C70, till now using S4. Have met accidents few time, and most of the time is others fault and my careless. Remember, Speed is nothing without control, speed is not all.

Enjoy your ride, your bike, choose your ride according to your ability in financial, techniq etc. Bike shld be your companion not burden, bigger cc=more fuel cost and mantainance cost too.

real sad, only 3 choices. period.

Still have Yamaha FJ400, Suzuki Bandit 400, Honda Silverwing 400, Kymco, Joyride, Piagio, etc :)

with experience you will know what makes a bike safe. Take care of your bike and it will take care of you. Of course there there latest technologies like ABS and traction control on bikes today, but they are expensive. For a street ride, good caution driving on a well maintained bike is good enough
