Checked with shop, was told due to weather & traffic. Manual stated is for Japan, how true?

Rubbish though. Honda USA and Europe is quoting the exact same maintenance figures in the manual.

Just came back from visiting Mah, ASP, BS and Loois. Must say the guy at Loois has aged. Last time I dealt with them was in 97 when I got my replica 125. Still the same old man, never ever willing to give a exact figure.

Anyway all sold out except ASP with 1 non ABS X model and Mah with 1 S model. BS says next shipment will be July/ Aug. dunno zhun or not. I would say BS gave the most competitive price.

Will give myself one week to deliberate, should I or should I not. :D

Sounds cool. Will wait to see if DCT is arriving. One of my friend's friend who pre-ordered the NC700X from BS collected his bike recently said that BS have included the NC700XD in their price list, this means they are finally bringing in the DCT model!

hi guys i juz came back form my first serving from boon siew..

a couple of qns i ask them and their answer surprise me.

1) have to follow strictly to the log card given by boon siew to eligible for the HONDA warranty for a year.

2) engine oil will be from them strictly which is castrol mineral or fully synthetic.

3) no modifications is allowed that may effect engine or elctrical. mean no vooltmeter/gear indicator/aftermarket horns.

4) crash bar, luggage( boxes), windscreen any thing for saftey structure is allowed.

5) parts eg like brakepad, tyres, etc have to be from them in order to be eligible for the warranty.

6) cant view the bike while they doing their work.

heres more detail of what thing they did juz now..

everything cost 146.95

mainly 3 castrol fully syn engine oil. oil filter.. and other checks. if u use mineral oil from there it will be cheaper.

there are certain packages for different mileage, mine is package A.. this is the most basic engine oil and oil filter and other checks... was told other charges apply for other stuff like tyres brakpads coolants, etc. 24000km den they will change spark plugs and the basic stuff..

came at 10 left at 1230pm

wow no aftermarket horns... wth... makes me think if the warranty is really worth it or not... did u ask if such servicing can be done at their authorized dealer's workshop?

dealer's workshop also cant bro...which i think its quite rediculos... must solely be in boon siew..

maybe have to enquire the manager or something, cz the one who liased with me is the servicing customer service side..

thks to this thread i tink boon siew's horns are starting to show... damn it, sld have just bought from looi's without hidden cost and such pathetic rules to follow... cox if u do the math, the amount of money saved for servicing/interval and time spent does the warranty really seems worth it for you? cox in a year u might have spend alot with them while the parts for warranty claim may not even cover the cost of it

Posted

funny how they dont follow what is stated in the manual... i think its rubbish... i will be servicing at the stated intervals... and i dont think i want to spend $150 at every servicing...

bro nick can you share with us which model did u bought and from who did u bought it and wads ur current service history?

I came across car agent given 5 years warranty with unlimited mileage, bear in mind there are conditions like you cannot miss any service package stated as condition. From the profit there are more than enough to cover parts claim.

The reason why I purchased agent bike cos Looi's mentioned BS stop them from selling otherwise I will get a parallel import bike.

Just my 02 cents.

i hope that nothing will happen within a year's usage of this bike... to me $150 per servicing every 3 months is too much for a bike that is suppose to be serviced every 8000km...

FYI, $150 is the first servicing. Thereafter will cost more because more items to check & top up. Example, brake fluid and 10+ points check blah blah....

Above experience was learned when I purchased my new car.

yes u do... the stamp is the most important

hopefully next week will be able to collect the bike... i will surely ask them wad are the items that the warranty claim is entitled to and have everything written black and white... if say the items which can be claim doesn't seem to be of value with the short interval and high pricing of the servicing, i would just void the warranty by following the manual's service instructions.

lets some simple math of millage and cost of service within a year, with the bare minimum millage and assuming its only EO & Oil filter change at $150 :

50km -> to and fro to work

50km X 7(days) = 350km/week

350km X 4(weeks) = 1400km/mth

1400km X 12(months) = 16800km/year

16800km / 4000km(interval according to log card) = abt 4 times servicing by them in a year

4 X $150 = $600

ok so the bare minimum amt of money we spent on servicing according to log card itself already cost us $600 as compared to only $150(minimum change of only eo & oil filter, 12000km interval according to manual)

lets not forget that stunts from shops saying that certain parts defects are not covered. so guys a bare minimum of an extra $450 cost on servicing... do you think the warranty is worth it? for me is 50/50, wads ur opinion? isit ok if someone with the log card can show us a pic of it so we can look at the details on it?
