Hey bros, I'm interested in getting the NC700X DCT version, from what I've read, only Looi's sell it? Also, does anyone know roughly what the price is for the NC700X DCT version vs the non-DCT version? No time to go down to bike shop to check this week..

there's a bro selling the NCS

NCS sits lower than the NCX and has a slightly larger fraux tank storage area

read somewhere the S has 4bhp less..dun know how true is that..but i reckon if your getting this bike,it ain't about the horses..

yeah, no horse run... ncx has the slight power advantage... DCT maintenance more ex cox of the oil and the components are not something you can find easily as compared to manual bikes and people are more familiar repairing/troubleshooting manual bikes than the DCT

After around 500km on the road, the engine starts to feel smoother. Guess it has broken in already.

Boon Siew's 1st 800km servicing is S$99 before GST. Dang...

I've clocked about 1000km just before sending the bike into the shop. Hmm... 10cents servicing for every km travelled... urgh.

They used Castrol's 20W-40 mineral oil for EO.(No wonder their warranty insists on such short servicing interval lah. Fully synthetic oil would have lasted longer.)

And there's a short check list on the bike as part of the servicing.

Waited just past 1 hour for everything to be done.

Oh well... at least, you get to hang out in the air-con'ed lounge in Kah Motors along with the atas car owners plus free flow of kopi.

With new EO, I took the bike in "S" mode for the ride home.

Gear changes took place exactly at the 3000rpm mark and the bike totally feels different in "S" mode.

In "D" mode, the XD is like a pampered pre-enlistment 18-year old otaku who could possibly do better in his NAPFTA test. But he do not see the point of going for gold when a mere pass would do. Its not like MINDEF will pay him an award for doing his best and thus he did not. Preferably to save his energy for something else.

In "S" mode, this bike is like the same person who just graduated from the gruelling Guards conversion course. He's been pushed to his limits and is eager to show you how. There's no sign of that lethargic otaku in him anymore. In place is a well-conditioned athlete who would rather run when he could walk.

Under circumstances where the "D" mode would dictate 5/6th gear, the "S" mode stubbornly persists in 3rd gear until you reached the magic 3001 rpm mark.

Given the larger gear ratios for the 1st 3 gears, this behaviorial change is rather alarming. The bike engine is rumbling ominously all the time at low speeds, seemingly grunting at you to go faster or go back to "D" mode like NOW!

I dunno... the DCT really feels so different in "D" mode. Have to see if I would take to it eventually.

Maybe just leave this mode to one of those rare times when you need to teach that heavily-modded sedan a good lesson in "Power-to-Weight" ratio.

Hey Goo,

It's standard to use mineral oil during the run-in period, using synthetic oil will destroy your engine. Anyway, do you mind sharing how much and from who you bought your N700XD from? Just called Looi's, they quoted me 21k for the XD without insurance.

Got mine from Boon Siew.

Price is roughly the same as Looi's quote lah.

Overall, I got the bike OTR for less than $22k.

But then again, my TPFT is a lot cheaper than young chaps'.

Think for me it varies... From 80-110... Depends on riding and road conditions...

for me it depends...

during touring normally will be 90-100+km...

normal sg road use 60-70+km...
