Hi newblood,

 

is there any discolouration on the button at the side of the meter? Please have a close look on them.

I tink the quality of the buttons are not well built, even the display set u can see scratches n discolouring... Mtech says that the accessories for ncx sld be here by nxt mth

So far theres no decolorisaton of any parts yet...

 

I read up other forums that they face decolorisation to parts like their fender and buttons..

when i asked the sales man he give me a number to call the mech, when i ask the mech he say everything cannot install =.=" wth... den i say box how? he say put rain coat ah? can... Zzzz this is some real half f answer... but one thing for sure, horn cant install wth! and some other stuff that you had mentioned... just came back after collecting and riding for 4hrs no butt pain or back ache problems, nice bike to ride... how exactly to run in? max speed i went is 82, tt is ok ya? there's tons of stains at the rear of my bike and some on my front radiator already... a rear hugger and front fender extender seems to be a must have, but not sure if it would void the warrenty man this sucks...

 

Yeps true dats wad they say to me also.. however crashbar topbox slider touring windshield hugger is allowed stuff like horns fender extender or anything electrical or engine enhancement like filtrrs pivot stabilser are nt allowed.. have u check if servicing at other honda authorised dealers allowed? Cz i check its nt alowed and strictlg have to follow boon siew kileage scheduling in the warranty booklet.

yes u can go to authorized dealers to do ur servicing and u must let them stamp ur card and follow the millage. y is fender extender not allowed? its not electrical

Is there any black & white written? I afraid once defect occur & they start eating "roti prata".

no there isn't... that's the scary part

btw how do u guys run in? i dont think i sld follow what the salesman said about running 70-80km only... the manual never stated exactly how to do it all it say is avoid full throttle starts and rapid acceleration, avoid hard braking and rapid down-shifts and ride conservatively... wth?

For me is not to excess rpm 3K for every gear.

i rode below 90 most of the times. sometimes 90-100.. not too hard not to soft for me.. after 500km done den its finish running in..

cz wad i read from other forums, if theres discoloration or crack to ur original fender.. then they will not replace that part..

i actually had a look at the side buttons of the seedometer.. i look at it for quite sometimes.. i think theres a minor change of color.. and i feel in a long run it will decolorise naturally..

for my 1st 70km i foolishly followed the salesman advice of not going over 80... so no matter what gears i didnt over shot 80, didnt notice the rpm at all, some went over 4k rpm i tink...

 

the only ncx running in clue i found last night was this from UK NCX forum:

 

"Just don't labour the engine, ie running too high a gear for too low a speed. That's the worst thing you can do really. " (oh no i actually only had abt 2/3k rpm on 6th gear)

 

"I was advised to not run the engine to gentle... My dealer told me it may result in a "lazy" engine.

He advised to run it in at 3-4k rpm cruising. I did so mainly as the 4K rpm in 6th gear is my normal cruise speed.

However, i also did touch the limiter a couple times (also to make sure it actually works) and tested the bike at high speeds (170+ Km/uur)

 

I had my first service last week after 1500km and the mechanic told he he felt the bike was a lot smoother then when i picked it up.

Recon the running in at 3-4K rpm seems to have done the trick. "

 

so this morning i ignored the salesman's un-confident advice and decided to follow this guy's way... 3k rpm can hit about 90km and i dont think im on the 6th gear yet

i believed when the rpm is at 3.. its shows 95kmh.. probably dont wana go above 3 rpm..

oh ok... that makes sense, thks for clearing the issue, i guess i'll not get the fender extender... hope the mesh tt u said does its job well enough... 2nd day of owning the NCX, have already found many areas unreachable to clean while washing T-T
