Just collected my bike...

Omg...... I'm too short.... Lol.....

Oh dear.. I'm 1.68m and intend to get the 700X. I managed to tiptoe on both legs on the 700S. How tall are you?

Looks like I may have to lower the suspension by 2cm if I were to get the X.

What's the feel like when you embark on the bike? Is it too tall to feel comfortable? Can both legs tiptoe on the ground?

After riding for 70km, is not easy to maintain under rpm 3K. Under 90km/hr on the 6th gear the feeling is odd, the engine sound like "tok log tok log". First time riding twin engine so don't get use to it.

Hi bitx, where do you stay? You can come to my place to have a feel before decide, i'm fine with it.

i'm staying in woodlands.

now in a dilemma, my usage averages 3,000km per year, own my current x1r for 3.5yrs only clocked 10,000km:pity: previously have CBR600 as a 2nd bike for 6 months, only clocked 1,000km

reason why i want to change to a bigger bike is i don't feel safe riding this bike. did some research and find that the NC700 suits my requirement. firstly it was the looks that 'turned' me on, FC is great for a 700cc bike and road tax relatively cheap. maintenance schedule is superb too. however would it be a waste if i were to leave it parking in the carpark, depreciating it's value everyday when i'm not riding it?

how how how?? someone enlighten me pls

oh yes, forgotten to ask, can anyone share how much did you pay for the X version OTR without insurance? Seems that the bike shops that i've visited quoted quite differently and seems that BS sells lowest without penalty for full cash payment.

what about insurance? i was quoted 300+ for 3rd party fire and thief and 600 for comprehensive. how much were yours?

thanks in advance for your replies.

If your mileage is so low & why you need a big bike? Sound like bike to you is a want & not a need toy.

I paid $18K for NC700X ABS including retention number plate but without insurance that cost me $636.65 comprehensive.

called up directasia.com, they still don't have the model in their list. will probably call up AXA tmr and enquire.

rode S4 a decade back, that time vtec 2 just out (if i remembered correctly). it was a nice bike to ride, smooth and power at hand. would like to have a change of bike this time round. always loved to own a tourer but most if not all simply too tall for vertically challenged people like me. :p

personally find that S4 is overpriced for brand new/ resale. initially looking for a resale HD, thought about it for a few weeks and decided that will be my retirement bike which will be in 20yrs time. would like to experience other bikes for now. :)

personally find the skidmarx rear hugger better looking and seem to do the job better.

i think you hit the nail there. yes, i agree it's a 'want' rather than a need however i have say i do need the bike on certain days where i have to leave the car for wife to fetch the kids. not often thus the low mileage i clocked on my bikes. if i were to ever get the NC, would most probably keep it till dunno when..

BS is selling 18k for the ABS model and asp offering me 18.4, both OTR without insurance. seems it makes more sense to get it from BS.
