I am not sure if I should get ncx700.. currently riding fz6s2, loving the power and pick up when I drop gear..is the ncx a lot more under powered as compared to fz6?

Hi NC700 riders! I have some questions on NC700 as I am considering X model soon! I have read a number of reviews that says NC700 is more of a gentle relax ride and good consumption, gives reasonable torque rather than for people who are looking for that power surge. Quite attracted to the bike's storage and petrol consumption. I think that NC700 looks good too. I have a few questions that require you guys to help me with!

My questions are:

1) Is NC700 cruise comfortably at 160km/hr?

2) At which speed is it significant for the bike pick up more speed?

3) I am riding a CB400 currently. NC700 riders that previously rode CB400, you guys mind sharing what are the significant differences in these bikes?

I usually do around 40 - 50km/day in Singapore on average and make occasional trips up north! So would like to get more information on NC700 so that I can decide whether it fits my bill.

Thanks people =)

1) Nope, IMO 140 is the most I get to be cruising comfortably on NSHW. anything more than that, the consumption would drop alot as some owners reported. but top speed is around 180.

2) from 3krpm to 5krpm

3) riding posture, once u ride the ncx for some time you will feel the s4 and most of the other bike tiny. smoother ride, lesser rev required to pick up. slightly lower top speed due to lower rev and 2 cylinder only. nc feeling slightly less willing to bend at corners as compared to the s4. better fc and cheaper maintenance. better wind protection with the correct setup.

personally i used to do around same mileage as u, going to work and back home, petrol would last me for about a week till reserve and than go boleh land pump RM20 of petrol, very wallet friendly. but it does depend on riding style and the road you take, if u are easy on the throttle and take the expressway more often than most likely you could save petrol better.

The comments are valid. SG highways at 100kmh gives one of the best fuel economy and no stress on bike and rider. 140kmh is comfortable on NSHW. If you travel congested city roads like me, DCT is a better match cos no need frequent manual gear changes. Any higher revving/power bikes and I can only max 4th gear on these roads.

I'm using the 1800 ones. Fits nicely without grinding and it's horizontal as well.

Just collected my ride yesterday. Nice, comfy, powerful and torquey enuff for me(previously riding drz). Well, suits me a lot. But not that used to the rpm and gear shift, riding at 2-3k rpm engine sounds kinda rowdy... Lol
