I used to have a 2008 MP3 250cc. Bike has great handling except one issue. Intermittent fault on front wheel lock mechanism, the ECU that controls the levelling actuator. Sad to say I went to local agent . Guess! what, they told me it cost $1000+ for ECU. Parts not available and no gurantee that fault is completely rectified. It just amazed an agent has no confidence and no parts. Good or bad is up to judgment.

I did check with other riders and some do have other types of faults but no furthur detials on costs and service info.

I still like it but very very weary of it. Hope you buy a healthy one!

Hey bro...regret to hear your experience on the MP3.

I have experienced more and more of the MP3s having these issues with their suspensions due to the 1st few batches of MP3s are coming to age.

I bet piaggio local agent (knowing them) cannot and probably will not do anything helpful to benefit

The owners of these old MP3s, so those who are thinking of buying old MP3, please consider carefully about these wear n tear costings.

machine price 7.7k and yep have reverse gear, choose this scooter because it operate almost like a car, Drive, Neutral, Reverse. i feel more safe riding this, and my CO die die want this. she also feel safer. moving and stopping need not to put ur leg down :D i wish lta would come out with new courses for people that only wish to ride scooter >.

i dont want to burst your bubble ah, but not having to put your leg down during traffic lights, reverse gear or automatic transmission does not make riding a motorcycle any safer than another model.

what important is your personal mindset towards riding and riding habits.

go think about it

Yeah man. People stand at bus stop also can get killed.

IMO it's not motorcycling or cycling that's dangerous, it's the traffic.

Cycling a bicycle with training wheels (4 wheels) does it make it any safer? I don't think so.

Ever walk into a shopping center, as you walk towards a person coming towards you, you move left to avoid him and he move to his right to avoid you and you both almost bang into each other and that's how accident happens, not because we don't know how to walk, it's because we can't anticipate how others think.

As a new rider, i suggest you gain experience along the way by making yourself predictable to others like signalling, lane change slowly, don't tail gate and squeeze only when necessary as that's where most biker gets knock because of blind spot. Ride within your limits. Know your machine (How it accelerate, stop, cornering, size) is also a key factor.

Just my 10cents :)

Huhhhhhhhhh!!1!!!!!!! I dont where it got deviated but TS asked about TR-3 . I wished I had bought it 2 years ago when an elderly gentleman at CCK was going to sell it. 2500 only. when I went to a shop at changi a few months later. almost the same period bike with same distance travelled was given 6000. woooooooo. regret regret. i told the famous manager might as well bought new.

Don't know who is TS but bikerson started the thread about TR-3. Yes my response are not related to TR-3.

felino said he wanted something safer like the TR-3 then yes O.T is related.

TR-3 being safer? I agree to certain extend. Safer as in force to follow behind cars, have to slow down a lot for cornering, people mistake you for a handicapped and therefore more forgiving and understanding.

agree, if everyone had the right mindset then there will be less accident on the road. especially during traffic jam.

I have a fairly new TR3, which I seldom ride. More light a weekend red-plate bike :)

Registered April 2011 and Mileage about 2600 only. Whenever wife walked past it, she nags at me. Condition still 10/10. Always parked under shelter.

Interested PM me :)

Ever in a situation where you forgot to lock the box, get down and go behind and lock it. Then you need something from the box, get down and go behind and open the box and get it. Want to put something in the box get down go behind and put it. Just by reading tired already ha ha lest he keep getting on and off to access the box. So by turning the box around I guess all he need is just turn around and access the box as and when he wants without getting off.

putting side box dunno will affect the comfy of the pillion or not...

It will not affect the pillion with side boxes, so long position it slightly to the back.
