Here u go! a reply from LTA.Shld be able to answer all yr qns on number plate transfer

We wish to inform you that vehicle owners may apply for retention of the vehicle registration number before transferring the vehicle ownership and/or de-registering the vehicle.

The vehicle registration number retention fee is $100 if the registration of the new car and the number retention are done together. If the application to retain the number is done before the registration of the new car, the number retention fee would be $1,300. Nonetheless, the registered owner will receive a refund of $1,200 upon registering a new vehicle with the number. The retained number is valid for 12 months.

Please note that the retained vehicle number is not transferable and must be used on the vehicle registered under the same owner. In case you are not aware, the retained number can also be used to replace the number of another existing vehicle under the same owner's name, at $1,300. A vehicle owner may also wish to exchange the registration numbers of his two existing vehicles (both must be registered under his name) at the prescribed fee of $2,600.

anyway, i miss wildcard.

It is only practical if you are getting a new bike otherwise I don't any one has done it for bikes before . I think only previously car owners will do it but nowadays car is so cheap. This rule is so dumb and redundant...

Hellos bros & sis.. Me currently having an FBA plate. I just dont like the combinations lah, especially with the "FBA" on it. I tot of changing it to an old set like FX or FY that sorta things...

Question is, is it legal to do so? & how do I go about to get it done? And btw, I did see a Chinese brader riding a super cool yellow SPEC 3 (or SPEC 2 I'm not sure) with the plate AZ on it..

Cheers!

you should have bought a cheap and old bike then scrap it before you bought your new s4. that way you only pay $100 more.

now if you want to change to an old plate, it's $1300.

bike A to current bike = $2600

current bike to new bike C = $100 (provided current bike is under your name)
