Hi, all,

I am riding a cbf150 and changed to a dry cell battery on Feb 2010.

I have a voltmeter installed and so far the readings are normal, abt 14v when switch on and 16v when riding.

Have no problem starting the bike even after few days of non riding.

I need advice on the following:

Will dry cell battery just died without warning? ( previously on my wet cell battery. I notice the voltage reduced)

Should I replace the battery since its over 2years?

Any other significant symptoms I should take note for battery degrading other than the voltmeter readings?

Dry cell will not die on u without symptom. It's just like a wet cell battery, just that it's maintenance free. Just monitor with your voltmeter.

to be on the safe side, 2 years is the usual lifespan of d battery lar. can change if u want.

on a side note, 16V sounds way too much to me. unless ur voltmeter is inaccurate. your charging system should be max 14.5V like dat.

Btw might be my reading error. Its about 15v on my analog meter.

Btw when bike on throttle beyond 80, does your voltmeter shows steady readings at 15v or it fluctuate

Mine will stay constant at 14.4 or 14.5 when above 80.....
