i won't be surprise. i read somewhere that pennzoil have a HTHS of about 3.6cP. HDEO are bulit to be robust with a HTHS at least 3.5cP and normally ablove 4cP therefore FC will take a hit compare to oil with lower film thickness. also, HDEO tend to maintain it viscosity better then alot of other oil in a share sump. i used pennzoil before and no complain too:)

the HTHS and FM is the 2 main factors affecting FC.

i am currently using castrol RX new gen and added scheaffer moly EP treatment. that scheaffer stuff is thick like gel!!! my FC took a hit of 2km/L. i think it turn the oil into a 50w-60w oil. that scheaffer stuff have a whooping 2545.6cst @ 40C and 238.5cst @ 100C. it just crazy:cheeky: i will dilute the oil further.

i notice racewerk are coming up with an promotion for motul product? maybe they are clearing the stock for the new stuffs? just guessing. haha:shy:

This Penzzoil Titanium Fastrac Fully syn 10W40 also good. Tried it on my FZ150i. Mine I bought it at HL Cycle in Kaki Bukit. Its a bit expensive than Motul 5100 15W50 but the performance also better than Motul 5100. Hehehe.

Performance in what way? A 40 weight will definitely feel more revvy than a 50 weight :)

Mileage wise. It last longer than the Motul 5100. I think it is due to Motul 5100 is Semi synthetic while Penzzoil Fastrac I am using is Fully Synthetic that is why last longer....

it not true all the time that synthetic last longer then mineral.

Depend on the type and amount of VII polymer used. Generally for mineral oil, they would need some amount of VII for the same viscosity spread compare to synthetic.

Viscosity spread is not really an important factor for our weather and

Bike context. Even a 15w is good enough for -15c to -10c. Not much people is willing to ride in temperature like tis not to mention any lower.

Group 3 generally able to formulate without VM up to 30wt. I pick a 15w40 for 40wt anytime for it ability to withstand shearing. A good oil like motul and redline is able to formulate with no VM up to 10w40. but one have to pay the extra for benefit tat is not really measureable.

It's true but it's quite hard to find a fully syn 15w40 oil around, be it group III or IV and as for a mineral 15w40 like Delo 15w40 which are group II base iso-syn, it will need a certain amount of VII for the 15w spread.

Unless you can find a single 40wt Delo 400 then it would be awesome.

balance about nearly 5L of castrol lorry oil to finish. i know i not suppose to buy any oil until i clear the remaining but couldn't fight the urge and got myself 4L of schaeffer semi-synthetic lorry oil:cheeky: some might know i am a bigger fan for dino oil then full synthetic oil hence the choice of supreme 7000 rather then supreme 9000. also, i like the stout additive package of the supreme 7000 more. load of sb antimony in there!

schaeffer supreme 7000 15w40. a true blue semi-blend. 20-25% of Group 4 PAO and the rest group 2 plus and additives. CCS viscosity @ -20C is 5,700cP put it more like a 10w rather then 15w. cool isn't it:angel:

oh... did i mention it green?:thumb:

I'm going to be adventurous and try using Schnell Ultimate 2 fully synthetic 5w40 engine oil in my bike. Its selling at $29.99 at IMM Giant. Its 4 litres. Cheap right? the car forums gave positive reviews for the oil. So I'm going to try. Tried HDEO last time too. Now trying to see if there's more cost savings. Will post the results here.

Recently running on silkolene pro 10w 40 fully synthetic. So far its one of the best but its expensive. $25.

I ride a YBR125 and change its oil around 800 -900 plus km.

it's is cheap n good as I have tried it.. I have also tried its same brand oil for bike which is weight 60 but very draggy.

Ok. In my first 300km of using Schnell Ultimate 2. The results are good. Smooth. Comparable to Silkolene fully synthetic. Not draggy. But not too light too. The engine is quiet too. Surprisingly clutch engagement is solid. No slipping. Low revs throw clutch can go too. Similar to HDEO. Hi Revs launch also no clutch slip. Overall it is a good and cheap alternative. Why bother to spend more on oil advertised as bike engine oil next time?

Will continue to use until 1000km. Will let u guys know when it starts to feel rough.

thanks bro for the input. wif my current EO i always get the clutch slip. im riding a ybr too.

Because when i bought my bike it already has a weak engine. worn engine bearings and can hear the con rod knock under load. Its a lemon.

So I keep on looking for good oils and has to be cheap for shorter changing intervals. Its what I call cheap insurance. Also because YBR does not have oil filter. Only an internal oil strainer. If we always wait till oil is sludged up. Then this strainer has to be cleaned by opening up the block.

Anyway, when we always wait until we feel engine is becoming rough, damage is already happening in our engines. So why not change earlier and keep that engine younger longer..
