Champions come and go. Some fade away quietly, some with a bang. One thing for sure, there will be more greats coming to fill the shoes.

King Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson, Michael Doohan, Kevin Schwantz, Wayne Rainey, Freedy Spencer etc. Everyone thought a golden era was over whenever one of these legends retired.

I stopped watching MotoGP already.

The boredom is terrible. Largely a a man show, sometimes a 2 man tussle.

But otherwise, you can take a nap and miss large parts of the race, but didnt really miss anything.

The CRT are there to make up the numbers.

SBK got less fancy bikes, but the racing is there.

Th top 3 is never decided by the mid of the race, and often in the last laps you got a few riders fighting for podium.

Now this is racing.

Sad demise of MotoGP.

More brand than substance, in a big way.

The success of motogp teams n riders is its own downfall unfortunately, followed by the worldwide economic crisis (asian, american n now european crisis).

Motogp riders make very little mistake, that in itself means overtaking is very hard. Laptimes of at least top 8 are by milliseconds. Thrown in the factor of almost perfect bikes in the honda n yamaha makes it worse (ironically, because they perform even more flawlessly). This made it the boring gp that it is.

Asian financial crisis saw Suzuki n Kawasaki unable to afford costs to keep up with already established brands like Honda n Yamaha, so out they went. Ducati has Philip Morris money but luckily marlboro is rich enough to sustain otherwise Ducati will be out too. Now Dorna has introduced crt to make up the grid in their absence but what they really did was to add rolling chicanes. With the new European economic crisis, its anybody's guess how long the sponsor based crt teams can cope, as they rely fully on sponsors as compared to Honda n Yamaha.
