Hi all,

Just thought of starting this thread to put this bike on the radar of the community here. :)

If you guys don't already know, its basically the same as the Gilera Nexus 300ie, and you can read that thread here: A short review on the Gilera Nexus 300ie. Sadly, there is no more imports for the Nexus 300, hence you might want to consider the SR Max.

Nothing says it better then a video, not a reivew but just a quick overview:

Im a proud owner of my Nexus 500

I have been sick for the past 1 week. I bring my SR Max for a spin today. The pick up is good. Sometimes the windscreen vibrate quite a bit. Thinking of moving it to the lowest position. Any suggestion?

What position is it now? Mine has always been lowest and no vibrations.

It is at the middle position. Should I move it myself or get Mah to do it?

Can DIY with an allen key, but I tried moving from bottom to middle but failed, it was super super tight. Fearing that I might snap something, I stopped. :)

Just move to the highest position. Only use Allen key can do it. Will test it tomorrow.

Hi guys. Been sumtime since I last visited SBF.

Just hit 5k. Sent for svsing & alls seems well. But Im concern abt one thing tho; sound that seems to come probably (my guess) from the belt. When moving from start feels as if the belt has issues gripping itself and thus the crackling sound.

On a diff note; has anyone upgraded its exhaust. Can share if you will pls cos me thinking of it too.

Hi guys

Am interested with the bike. But need some help to convince me.

Was an ex X8 biker, wasnt a good experience base on the spare part price and tendency to break down often. I heard the srmax is using injection instead of carburetor. does this means better? and why?

So far full tank can go up to how many Km?

Machine easy to breakdown?

spare part same as x8 paggio?

rollers same as x8?

Thanks

Hey there guys, just got my SR max about a week ago and loving the smooth ride it has so far been providing me with. Would live to join a group forum for us SR riders if there is one on this website.

Fully agree that it's a nice scoot to start riding with... however they have problems with the rear weight distribution and also often have this clutch slip problem when moving off.

Few questions for the experts out there!

Does SR 300 have same engine as Nexus and Aprilia Atlantic 300 ie.? Piaggio Quasar 278 cc.

In which way does an open air filter improves the performance of this engine?

Is it worth it to change the stock spark plug to a better (more expensive) one? If so which one will you recommend?

Thanks

Posted

SR MAX 300 same engine, in fact everything is same inside out with the Gilera Nexus 300, except the colour and brand label.

Open air filter increased Mid to Top end power, with reduction of Low end power.

Change stock spark plug after recommended service interval, Yes.

What kind of improvement are you expecting with a change of Plug, other than longer life and cost more, any power increment(if any)shld be quite minimal even to be felt.
