Aprilia SR Max 300

SR MAX 300 same engine, in fact everything is same inside out with the Gilera Nexus 300, except the colour and brand label.

Open air filter increased Mid to Top end power, with reduction of Low end power.

Change stock spark plug after recommended service interval, Yes.

What kind of improvement are you expecting with a change of Plug, other than longer life and cost more, any power increment(if any)shld be quite minimal even to be felt.

Hi Mito,

Thanks for you input about open air filter.

Regarding Iridium plugs , I wasn't really expecting much improvement as you said longer life, higher price... Manufacturer will claim better fuel efficiency, improved throttle response etc But in a small engine like this I also think it will be hardly noticeable.

Anyway thanks for your quick response.

Hi guys I am interested to get this scooter first hand. How is the acceleration compared to gilera runner 200? Is the clutch slip problem very common on this scooter? How much does the full servicing cost? I am contemplating between this and sym gts 300 also so any feedback will be good. Thanks alot

To me, its definitely a zippy bike, the acceleration is quick and smooth which can put most cars and some bikes in you rear view. :cheeky:

Hi all,

I'm considering getting a scooter soon and was considering between SR Max 300 and Kymco Xciting 400i ABS.

Has anybody here considered the Kymco as well? Care to share any pro & cons?

IMHO, the SR Max is better looking, more sporty.

Cheers

Hi guys, I'm considering getting one. Just to ask, where do u usually service it? My main worry is spare parts availability outside.

Are there any issues with it?

I'm comtemplating among this with X10 and Kymco400.

most owners of the aprilia sr max 300 is still new so expect less major problems

- spares parts as in aftermarket are ready available. malossi has stock for most engine aftermarket replacement

- oem there's mah and another shop I forgot the name

- its the same bike as gilera nexus 300. so far have not heard any major issues. even water pump is good

do compare apple to apple yeah. ur selections are between 300 n 400 cc. obviously the 400cc are faster

- not much accessories to fit to this bike so its pretty much cost savings

- better fuel consumption. usually I get between 350 to 400km before reserve

of coz hands down. very sporty
