Honestly, locks are just deterance....that's why when I park my bike in JB malls, I avoid parking the whole day...i.e. quick finish doing what I want to do and leave!

The only 100% prevention is don't go JB at all....that's what I do at times....i.e. don't go in unnecessarily or accumulate everything I need to do and go in one shot.

It's all about minimising chance and probability....

even with this lock..............

what's stopping thieves from taking the whole bike but leaving your brake disc on the floor?

One thing I like to do when locking my bike in JB with my thick cable bicycle lock is to secure it to a fixed object. :)

So I take my time to find a lot that allow me to do that...

cable is hard to crop but relatively easier to saw. it just make up of many tiny strand of wire.

make sure the lock is not open by those round key which offer very little protection. choose lock that is disc detainer type.

All the deterrence listed in previous post will not help if the thiefs are determined to get to the bike.

These are pros, not just any fella looking for a joy ride.

If they can whisk a car in broad daylight, what chances do you have on a 2 wheeler?

If you worry so much, no amount of anti-theft device will help set your mind at ease. Nor is it guaranteed to work.

Just take a bus in and shop without worrying.

Else, just do whatever you can to minimise the risk, but bear in mind there is no fail safe method.

Dear All,

There is no way prevent your bike getting steal unless 24/7 keep an eye on your bike.

I went JB often with my Phantom once saw a owner told me his R1 lost in daylight outside KSL.

Last year a BMW bike was lost while the owner having foot massage his bike have alarm and lock and the shop have a security guard.

If you own a high end bike do not walk away a VAN will come 2 man carry your bike to the van less than a min.

They are not thief they earn a living stealing your bike as a professional.

They have eye all over JB once target lock the van will come.

If you just top up fuel and eat while eye on your bike is ok but leave unattend GD luck!

Ive had quite a good experience in ksl mall which makes me feel safe. But main thing is to park in the multi storey inside. After parking i was fiddling with the bike. The guard suddenly came over n looked at me and i clarified that it is my bike and he was still giving me the doubtful face till i plugged my key into the bike n started the bike to prove it was mine....

Hi everyone my name is Andy

It is agony and frustrated to lost your vehicle,

I would like to meet up any Bros who lost their Bikes in Johor Bahru, together we can learn where they usually do their crime and creating a support group to any bros facing this kind of situation.

We might never find our beloved Bikes , but together we might retrieve or help each other and even catch those *******

Easy. Just don't park your bike there in the first place. In fact, don't ride your bike into JB. Just take bus...

First learn stand, then learn fly. Nature's rules biker-sans. Not mine...
